Cedar Beach Lodge is a modern, smoke free, year-round retreat located in the desirable and private Cove Point Beach Community on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay. It is conveniently located 1 hour from Annapolis, MD and Washington, DC on Route 4 and 10 minutes from Solomon's Island, MD. Imagine your family enjoying the sunrise at dawn or a bonfire at night on the beautiful 1 mile long beach! Walk to the Cove Point Lighthouse and look for Miocene Era fossils and shark's teeth! This immaculate red cedar lodge was built in 2005. New in 2013, HDTV in great room! The house had fresh paint throughout in 2012. Your family and guests will enjoy all the comforts of home! Sleeps 6-8 comfortably! Private Master Bedroom loft w/King bed, TV and nursery area with crib, 2nd Bedroom has 1 Queen bed, 3rd Bedroom has 2 Twin beds and there is a Queen sized pull-out sofa bed in the great room. 2 full baths and private outdoor shower with dressing area. Pets on a case by case basis with owners approval.

About Deborah Brooks

I grew up in Maryland and as a child visited the Chesapeake Bay on family outings and with the Girl Scouts. As an adult I lived in Annapolis and spent a lot of time sailing and boating on the Bay. I love a quiet beach to really relax and unwind. My dog likes to accompany me to the beach for swims and long walks looking for sharks teeth and sea glass. I love to cook and have equipped the kitchen with everything I need to prepare great meals for my family and friends.

Why Deborah Brooks chose Solomons Island

My parents owned another home in Cove Point Beach in the 1980's and I spent lots of time at the house. I fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay Western Shore. I was delighted to have the opportunity to purchase this home as a vacation home and offer it as a rental for other families to experience life on the Chesapeake Bay. The proximity to my home in Leesburg, VA, allows me to getaway there throughout the year to work or relax with friends.

What makes this house unique

The location on the marsh side of Cove Point gives the feel of being secluded in a cabin in the woods. The front screened porch is a great spot for a meal or relaxing with a book in the rocking chairs. A short two blocks away is the private beach where I can let my dog off leash. The walk to the lighthouse and gentle waves of the bay make it ideal for children. The area is so quiet and peaceful, full of relaxing night sounds in the marsh. You will sleep well during your visit!

Anne-Marie Garden is a lovely sculpture garden in any season and has special events throughout the year, including the garden in lights during the winter holidays. Solomon's Island offers churches, shopping, restaurants, the world famous Tiki Bar, and a quiet boardwalk along the river.

Historic St. Mary's City is a short drive across the Thomas Johnson bridge and shopping at Belk, Target, Walmart, BJ's, Lowe's, etc. is conveniently located in California and Hollywood, MD, just over the bridge.

This area has something for everyone to enjoy.

Other Activities: fossil hunting, visiting historic sites, public beaches, Cypress swamp, and exploring the beautiful country roads throughout the area.

Golf: Chesapeake Hills Golf Club is a public golf course 2 miles from the house.

Beautiful Home

My husband, son(2 years) and I stayed at Cedar Beach Lodge during a terribley rainy weekend in October. Despite the weather, we had a wonderful time! The house was spotless and decorated so beautifully! The covered wrap around porch was perfect to sit and watch the rain fall with a cup of hot chocolate!
I would highly recommend to anyone!

Our first family vacation in many years and couldn't have picked a better place.
My parents and my brother and his wife had never rented a vacation home before so it was a new experience for them.... and they LOVED it!
The deck is a perfect place to hang out and roasting marshmallows by the fire pit out in the yard was awesome! For those in need to be connected to the world, there's wifi and cable TV.
I highly recommend this place.

Excellent house, fabulous location!

We had two families and a dog stay at Cedar Beach Lodge in April 2012. We loved the property and the neighborhood, and the beach is simply beautiful. The house is well equipped and very well kept. The yard has everything you need for a great stay - we cooked barbecue and enjoyed watching the wildlife! The owner was very responsive and provided all the information we needed for a comfortable stay.
Highly recommend and plan to come back soon.

Wonderful Vacation Spot!

My family and I stayed at this lovely spot for a week in mid-August. The house truly has everything you need for a fun AND relaxing stay at the beach! We came all the way from California for a true East Coast vacation experience, and it was one of our favorite trips ever. To be just an hour away from the sites in Washington D.C., but also in a peaceful, beautiful beach area was fantastic. The house was beautifully decorated and well stocked both inside and out (a lot of beach-going amenities to borrow!) I had no idea how much I would love the outdoor shower - perfect for after a jog and of course for after a day at the beach! Cove Point is a sweet little community with friendly people, and Lusby has a nice selection of stores and restaurants to pick up necessities. Thank you, Deborah, for making your home available and so very comfortable. We forgot to jot a note in the guest book, but know that we had a marvelous experience!

Comfortable, relaxing and cozy long weekend

Our long weekend at this lovely home was everything we hoped. Our four children loved the property. We especially enjoyed the long, screened-in side porch with the rocking chairs and cozy sitting area and the close proximity to the private beach. The bedrooms are very comfortable with plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Main floor laundry and well-appointed kitchen made it easy to prepare meals and keep things clean. We had a one-year-old with us who shared the master bedroom which was a bit difficult because the main bedroom is a loft that is partially open to the vaulted ceiling of the greatroom so putting our son down for a nap and even keeping him asleep at night was a little difficult. If we had had the master bedroom to ourselves the fact that it was a loft would have been wonderful. Just a caution to others who intend to use the nursery area of the master bedroom that it may be worthwhile to bring a portable crib to be used in one of the other main floor bedrooms. We wished we had.
Deborah, the owner, was so pleasant to deal with and very accommodating and simply kind.
We searched for sharks teeth and the kids jumped in the water. A few jellyfish but small ones and it is September so we expected it.
Overall, a lovely, low-key family getaway.
