About Walt Kubiak

My wife Barbara and I have been vacationing on the beautiful island of Maui for over twenty years and have owned a home on

the Kaanapali Hillside since 2000. We have been dividing our time between Southern California and Maui since then. Our two

daughters have been lucky enough to have experienced “dual citizenship” between the mainland and the islands and have

developed into beautiful, well rounded women because of it.

After spending many years as a Senior Executive in the entertainment industry, we decided it was finally time to make

the move for good. We are thrilled to be calling Maui our home, and especially the beautiful Kaanapali area. I now sell the most desirable properties in the world - Maui Real Estate.

We closed on our beautiful condo at Honua Kai at the end of June 2010. We take great pride in this excellent property and make sure to greet all of our guests personally. We coordinated our trip of a lifetime with Barb for our stay at #312 this past June. Barb greeted us upon our arrival and showed us all of the hotel and room amenities. Suffice it to say the trip exceeded our expectations. Honua Kai is the newest upscale hotel in West Maui. It is right next to restuarants & shopping with a great snorkel beach. Every day was filled with trips from the many pools on site to the beach to Happy Hour at Dukes. The extra den made it very roomy for my family of 5. We enjoyed watching the Olympic Trials on the 3 flat screens every night. The room even came with beach chairs. We will definately be back

GREAT

Condo 312 was perfect for my family. Barb, the owner, met us when we arrived and escorted us to our unit. She gave us a brief overview of the condo. Before coming to Maui we stayed 7 days at Ko Olina resort which was also great. Honua Kai resort had some extra features that Ko Olina didn't offer. They had a restaurant on the property, a water slide for the kids and a place to rent snorkeling gear.
The kitchen was nicely appointed with everything needed to cook including spices. The bed was very comfortable and the washer and dyer came in handy.There was also beach chairs and boogie boards. Although it was windy, It really didn't bother us. It was a constant,gentle breeze that allowed us to sleep with the patio doors open. The ocean had a lot of coral which made it difficult to walk .Wearing water shoes is recommended. Our deposit was return within two weeks. Our entire stay at the resort was great and we hope to return sometime in the near future.

Great rental!

We spent nine nights here at the end of May and had a fantastic time! The suite was exactly as pictured on VRBO and it was perfect for our family of four. Our four year old enjoyed sleeping in "his room" on the pull out couch in the den, and the play pen provided for our 18 month old was clean and in good condition. Barb was great, meeting us really late (she even called us to check that we had arrived ok because it was so late at night) and bringing along some extra pool toys that she thought might be suitable for our boys. We were impressed with the pools, the access to the beautiful beach was quick and easy, and the whole resort was beautiful and well maintained. We appreciated the convenience of the Aina Market and Duke's too. We will definitely come back!

Excellent Property

My family of four stayed in this unit for 3 weeks in February and we couldn't be happier with the condo and hotel property. Anyone nervous about renting through vrbo doesn't need to be with Barb and Walt. They answered every question I had before we arrived, then Barb met us at the property for check in and even arranged for the concierge to bring up our bags and Costco groceries! This is a well run rental operation.

The Honua Kai is top rate for amenities - numerous pools, restaurant, great beach and well-kept buildings and grounds. The location is fabulous, close to a grocery store and a great jumping off point for touring the island. The only thing the hotel doesn't have is lounge chairs on the beach but this unit comes with back pack style lawn chairs that you can use and they came in handy. The unit itself is spacious and the den was perfect for using as a bedroom for our 2 little boys (word of caution though, an adult may find the pull out beds uncomfortable, as with all pullouts, the mattress is pretty thin). The bathroom is absolutely enormous and really nicely finished. The patio doors are amazing, every day we would would come back from the beach and open up those doors to bring the fresh air and great view of the mountains into the room. Every amenity that you can think of to get you through the first days is stocked in the unit (coffee, laundry soap, even shampoo) and it even comes with beach towel cards (which really cuts down on the laundry). We will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a week at this property and had an amazing time. Beautiful and enchanting. Rainbows everyday from the balcony!

My only recommendation would be to pay extra for housekeeping. It is not included in rental price. The garbage drop is far from unit. So if you want a vacation without housework, be sure to make arrangements ahead of time.

This Honua Kai unit is a great value if you want the amenities that this property has to offer without paying over the top prices. It was great for traveling with an infant but there are definitely a couple constructive criticisms that the owners should address- like any property it's not perfect but it's pretty close!

Wonderful stay in Maui

We just got back from 10 amazing days in Maui. Renting from Barb and Walt was so easy. From the moment we booked the unit until we came home all of our needs were met. The unit had everything we needed...beach chairs, boogie boards and even sand toys!! Barb and Walt also were able to accommodate our late departure time. We can't wait to come back to Maui and will definitely rent from Barb and Walt again.
