Totally Disappointing

Although Torch Lake is beautiful we were totally disappointed in this rental home as it was not well-maintained or as described. The first thing we noticed besides the torn screen on the front door, was the smell of mildew/mold which we found was due to the leaky plumbing and standing water in the basement. Avoid this place if you suffer with asthma or allergies. The photos in this listing are old and do not accurately represent the current condition. There is no king size bed as listed. There is a twin bed in the sunroom along with a piece of wood in place of a missing window, not furniture for sitting as pictured. There is only enough dinnerware for four people yet it is supposed to accommodate eight. The outdoor patio furniture that is pictured was found stored in the shed and was unusable because it was dirty and moldy. The pontoon was included in our rental but we soon found that it had a bent prop, kept stalling and the carpet was covered with mold.
When we notified the owner about several items she was indifferent and uncooperative as far as any refunds.
If you are considering this rental I would suggest that you view it beforehand as I would not recommend this property to anyone.
Owner's Response: The home on Torch Lake is absoultely wonderful and I have recieve lots of comments in my comment book and messages that everything was clean and great. The screen door was fixed and there is no mold anywhere in the home as it was just inspected. The photos are real similar to what the home looks like, and I have updated the pictures. Everything is new in the home and the leaking bathroom facet has been fixed by a certified plumber. The outdoor patio furniture is brand new thats why it is stored in the garage and I don't want it weathered. New windows have been replaced where an exsisting window broke out when it was rented out and the glass company said it would be 3-4 weeks as it was a special order. You get what you pay for this home is the cheapest on the lake and you go there to get on the lake. This is just a basic cabin with all the amentities of home and has new carpet and everything is clean and tidy. The pictures show the entire home exactly how it is. The boat was in perfect condition before it got used and it got damaged when it was used by the renter. The first renter to use the pontoon and it was included in the rental for free. So the complaint is falsify. Sorry that the renter just wasn't happy as some will be and some have higher expectations.
