My fiance and I trekked up this way from Columbus, Ohio (mostly in part to the rave reviews). Let me say... The pictures do not do this place justice! Mike and Linda are incredibly welcoming and nice, their little cub cabin has so much rich history, and... Just fantastic. We will for sure be back. I could not recommend this place more for anyone looking to "get away from it all" for a few days. You will feel refreshed the moment you step foot on the property.
Great cabin for two nestled in the woods. Everything as described, and Mike and Linda could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Even rang the dinner bell when they thought we had got lost in the woods! Cabin is warm and cozy, even in the dead of winter. Did some cross-country skiing, hiked in the woods, but mostly just enjoyed some R&R in an idyllic setting. Could not recommend more.
We just returned from a two-night stay at The Cub Cabin....We were not disappointed, to say the least. Just bring your clothes and food with you. The place is clean, comfortable for two, and close to everything that Northern Michigan has to offer. The sauna felt amazing after a day out in the elements.
Mike was there to great us upon arrival. He spent a few minutes showing us the cabin and answering our questions about the sight-seeing in the area.
We will be return customers!!!!
My significant other and I booked this cabin for a long weekend getaway and it was far better than we were anticipating! A very quaint cozy cabin set back in the woods. Peaceful and quiet, but conveniently located to many attractions. The host is very kind and friendly. We were able to enjoy a relaxing weekend in beautiful up north Michigan in early winter and drive around to nearby cities where we did many wine tastings and saw different sites. We are certainly keeping this cabin on our list and will definitely return!
The place was so peaceful. You might can find cellular signal over there but Mike and Linda provide us an internet, so it shouldn't be any problem. I and my boyfriend, from Thailand, got a warm welcoming from Mike giving us a tour to his cabin and from Linda providing us a banana cakes and peanut butter cookies :) The place was very quite and lovely. Perfectly fit for 2 adults. The only concern I have here is there are no curtains in the first floor which will not be a problem for the one who used to. But it won't worth enough to take even half star off from this place.
We were hoping for a quiet get away for our 5 year anniversary and this was the perfect rental. It was centrally located and just a short drive from many places, we were never bored. The cabin itself is small and cozy, but not small enough that you feel boxed in. It stayed warmed despite the freezing temperature outside and the kitchenette allowed us to save money by cooking our own breakfast. We would definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and family.
