Dear Natasha,
We just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed staying at your Vieques rental home, Casa Natalia. Casa Natalia provided our family (2 adults, 2 children) with a very clean, comfortable and spacious retreat as we explored Vieques in the week between Christmas and New Year. The house was perfectly located. It was a short stroll to the many good restaurants, snack shops, markets and bakery of Isabella Segunda. Each morning, we walked (less than 10 minutes) to the sea glass beach to see what treasures had been brought in by the previous high tide. On the walk home, we stopped for savory turnovers or pastries from a local eatery. To get the full flavor of Vieques, we hopped into our rental jeep. After a few minutes’ drive to the east or south, we were diving into the crystal clear waters of the island’s many pristine and beautiful beaches. On one snorkeling trip, we found ourselves swimming among thousands and thousands of fish. The variety of colorful fish, coral and plant life matched the wide diversity of beaches. After each day’s outing of swimming, snorkeling or paddling the biobay, we rinsed off in the outdoor shower in the house’s leafy garden which was not only peaceful and well-maintained but provided us with additional privacy. The house’s hillside location offered nice views of the lush island (especially from the roof deck). The persistent trade winds kept the house comfortably cool and ventilated without having to run the AC. (Though the AC had ample cooling power had we needed it). The WiFi was very reliable, and the kitchen was well-equipped to prepare breakfast and coffee and take away lunches for the beach. Thank you for thoughtfully appointing the house with comfortable furnishings and linen, books, beach chairs, snorkel masks and lounging mats. Finally, your caretaker Ramon was always accessible and helpful. He greeted us, helped us get settled in and oriented during our first hour on the island, and then we were on our way. Ramon was a great resource throughout the visit, recommending places to eat and visit. We were always greeted with a smile, wave or a friendly “Buenos dias” from the local residents. Casa Natalia is the perfect place to stay to fully experience Vieques’ unspoiled beauty and charm.
Very truly yours,
The Pans
