1 Bedroom + Den - 1.5 Baths - (Sleeps 2-3)

This recently converted apartment is one short block from the Place des Vosges. In the 18th century it was a coach house and stable.

The apartment is 400 square feet (37 sq m), and retains the original ceiling beams; it has a recently renovated designer kitchen and bathroom, and a separate wc.

The front two rooms have been opened up to make a light and pleasant double studio. The private entrance opens directly onto a planted cobblestoned courtyard. Access from the street is restricted by electronic code. The neighborhood is extremely quiet and residential. Transportation (bus and metro) is close and simple.

All amenities are new as of February 2007: queen size bed; sunken bathtub with a shower; fully-equipped separate kitchen; central heat; double glazed windows; telephone with answering machine, Internet access, cable television, DVD player and CD player / radio, washer / dryer, safe. Excellent lighting.

The apartment is ideal for two people, although it has a sofabed.

The apartment is situated one block from the Place des Vosges. It is in the heart of the oldest, and most historic part of the Marais, which has some of the most beautiful surviving 17th and 18th century buildings in Paris. These include the Hôtel de Soubise, the Hôtel de Sens, the Hôtel de Rohan, the Hôtel de Sully, the Hôtel de St. Aignan and the Hôtel Salé.

Lovely Apartment in the Marais

Everything about the apartment was wonderful. Booking was easy and professional. We had an early flight into Paris, and we wanted to leave our luggage until check-in time. We were graciously accomodated by the owner.

The apartment was exactly as advertised. Place des Vosges is two minutes away as are many restaurants and excellent shopping for clothing. I recommend Cafe des Musees for an excellent dining experience minutes from the apartment.

The apartment is small, but perfect for a fun week in Paris with my teenage daughter. I'll be back
