Photos and Description of the Brevard vacation cottage rental 2 Bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 6 ,well appointed furnishings ,split level

ATTENTION :Our quiet,split level cottage with 60 FT Cascading Waterfall/Stream right By Deck(!!) is a delightful place nestled among tall trees and rhododendrons where we like to make memories, as well as escape for rejuvenation. Sitting on the large, cathedral ceiling screen porch while listening to the birds or to a passing thunderstorm is a wonderful experience. We have a large supply of good novels to read and multiple comfortable places to enjoy them, including a big swing down by the waterfall and one on the porch.. We are happy to share our numerable spices in the kitchen cabinet with you. You can fill the bird feeder off the deck and watch the birds. We are a nonsmoking property due to allergies ! Thanks for understanding !!! We are 12 minutes east of Brevard and 20 minutes west of Hendersonville off Hwy 64 in the small community of Penrose. On Shuford Mountain by a pastoral valley in between Brevard and Hendersonville, NC., just 3 miles off Highway 64, is our stream/waterfall-side cottage on gently sloping side of mountain among rhododendrons and tall trees. There is a swing by the stream to sit and let the cool air and lovely sounds of the waterfall cool and soothe you. Play in the cool waters, if you wish. Dupont State Forest(5 mi), Pisgah National Forest(5 mi), and Gorges State Park with their wonderful hiking trails and lovely waterfalls galore await you to come and discover their beauty ! Sliding Rock. (for loads of fun sliding down a long, natural river rock!!). Blue Ridge Parkway(w/Pisgah Inn with the VIEW& food!) 'Mountain' music as well as classical music festivals. Apple festival. Asheville. NC State Theater at Flat Rock, NC. Biltmore House(35 min). Holmes Educational Forest. Cascade Lake Recreation area. Brevard is home to the unique white squirrels. Lovely Granite counter tops. Everything recently redone and sparkling !!!

Very comfortable mattresses!!! Wonderful sleeping! Pretty decor ! Some antiques. The MBR is like a romantic getaway or a perfect honeymoon suite in itself as one can enjoy the lovely, upscale room and open the French doors leading out onto the deck with rocking chairs overlooking the waterfall. The outdoor beauty comes right in the room as one gazes out onto the lush rhododendron covered mountainside and one hears the melodious sounds of the waterfall. Romantic ! Tranquility ! Delightful ! Pets may be considered...but in general we cannot accomodate all as we have some pet allergies. Thank you for understanding.

Soak in the peace and coolness sitting in the swing by the waterfall/creek ! OR enjoy a spot on the porch or deck reading one of the many novels available.Games and jigsaw puzzles are available for your enjoyment ! Well behaved children are most welcome..We do have some wooden knickknacks around that are not playtoys, that might should be put up on a shelf. Come and enjoy this pastoral,setting with the beauty of mountains surrounding you. Get away from the touristy busy areas and spend some time where things are quieter and you can truly relax...If you want to be a go-goer there is plenty to do within 10-15 min from concerts,to hiking, to thrift store shopping, boutique shopping, delighting in a drive on the Blue Ridge Parkay and eating at the yummy Pisgah Inn on the Parkway with its magnificent mountain view over mountaintops.

Hiking: Within 5 miles are marvelous hiking trails in Pisgah Forest. Well kept trails(easy to moderate, but a few strenuous) taking you to large, stunning waterfalls. You can swim (for free) in the pond at base of Hooker Falls in Dupont Forest ! Water shoes are advisable due to rocks on pond bottom. Whether eating in all kinds of restaurants, or hiking, or driving mt roads, or browsing through local shops(O P Taylors Toy store, White Squirrel(gift) Shop,very old timey Ace Hardware, Quilt Shop are among our favorites in Brevard)or attending various local festivals, or plays at Flat Rock Play House, or kicking back with a novel or a nap by the waterfall at our cottage, you will find great things to do.You can take local walks right out our front door to go gaze at the cows and river just down the road. If you are into thrift store shopping, Brevard has a 5-6 of those to keep you busy.
