This historic cottage-outside and Metropolitan-inside beach house is a wonderfully appointed getaway. This house is within walking distance to the beach and to the famous 'Lovers Point' beach. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is just blocks away. If you enjoy wine tasting this is a good location as well. Carmel is a 10 minute drive. Carmel valley is a 20 minute drive.
Inside the house, you will hear seals and sea lions and of course lots of birds. There is a Monarch butterfly grove a bike ride away.
If you can never get enough of outdoor living spaces or sitting areas -- the house offers that too. Plenty of seating, lighting and heat.

We stayed at this property for 2 nights with our 2 children. The cottage exceeded our expectations and we hope to return again in the future. The furnishings and decor were lovely, the kitchen had top of the line appliances and everything we needed. The bed was very comfortable, the bathrooms were large with nice towels, there was wifi, satellite television, a large bright dining room, 2 patios and a picnic table area. The cottage is also walking distance to the aquarium, cannery row and Lovers Point.
Keep in mind this is a 1 bedroom cottage but we easily accommodated our children on the pull-out sofa and window bed. Pacific Grove is a beautiful town and having a wonderful place to stay made it that much better!
We try to visit this area once a year because of the natural beauty. Walking next to ocean and sometimes we bike.
Always stayed in hotels. This was our first trip in vacation home.
What a pleasant surprise it was cozy and inviting. Close to all the important areas, beach, town and resuraunts. Are only regrets are we did not stay home much to enjoy this beautiful home.
This was the perfect place for me and my kids to spend a sunny weekend in Monterey. It's very centrally located, only a block from the bike trail on the beach. About a mile from the aquarium. A perfect place to start your 17 mile drive down to Carmel. Very comfortable. Great kitchen set-up. We had a blast and I plan to come back.
This home is absolutely the best. We loved our week here and didn't want to leave. It truly felt like a home away from home. You know how special this place is the moment you open the door. Very nice and comfortable furnishings. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. The outdoor spaces were so inviting. We loved the picnic table and the yard, which we used a lot. The location was perfect. A few blocks to the beach one way and a few blocks the other direction to the quaint town. Monterrey was a 10 minute drive at the most. We walked the coast trail everyday, which was breathtaking. We always saw seals sunning themselves on rocks. The owner was responsive and very nice to work with. They have gone over and beyond to make this a very special rental. We are looking forward to our next stay here.
This was an absolutely ideal experience. The location is right in the heart of Pacific Grove. The Pacific Ocean is just two blocks away. Wendi was very nice and super helpful with recommendations in the area. We were able to walk to restaurants for dinner/breakfast in the area. We also enjoyed taking a nice long walk along the coast, seeing the sunset and sunrise over the horizon. The view is just breathtaking. The home is meticulously clean, tastefully decorated, cozy and quiet. It gives a sense of visiting your rich relative’s beach cottage. I felt like being a home right away and I didn’t want to leave! We would love to stay here again the next time we’re in PG! Thanks Wendi!
I love this beautiful place. I am a repeat visitor, sometimes alone and sometimes with friends. Right away my blood pressure comes down and I breathe easier just being here. Sometimes I find myself smiling for no reason. It is a magical place.
You can tell how loved this place is by the quality of the furniture, the kitchen filled with top notch equipment including a Wolf stove and the beautifully maintained grounds. There are many sitting areas inside and outside of the house. It is cozy in the winter and warm and wonderful in the summer.
You can walk to everything, including Cannery row, restaurants, coffee houses and the Monterey aquarium. The entire neighborhood is filled with quaint historical homes. The view from the front porch is the Pacific Ocean which so often is electric blue on a sunny day. I love going for a run or walk along the coast and then having breakfast afterwards.
Several reviewers have described this as a home away from home or a place they would like to live. I agree. I could live here in a heartbeat exactly as it is. I wouldn’t change a thing.
Finally, the owners are truly wonderful people. They are highly responsive and kind. I wouldn’t go anywhere else in Pacific Grove or Monterey. This is it for me.
