Chateau du Colombie is a romantic fairy tale chateau complete with pointed stone towers and numerous terraces. It nestles within acres of rolling countryside surrounded by fields of swaying corn and sunflowers. Magnificent rooms with stone floors, beamed ceilings and monumental fireplaces are tastefully decorated and furnished leaving the architecture to speak for itself. The chateau has been recently refurbished and offers flexible accommodation with a choice of suites and rooms with ensuite bathrooms all beautifully appointed using natural stone throughout. Chateau du Colombie offers the perfect rural retreat in both summer and winter, a base to explore SW France, or a magnificent venue for a special event. It is available for full or part weeks.

Nestling in the heart of SW France in an area south of the Dordogne and the Lot and half way between the vineyards of Bordeaux and the bustling city of Toulouse lies Chateau du Colombie It is perfectly placed to explore this unspoilt corner of rural France. This is predominately farming country dotted with fortified villages and crossed with rivers and canals. Each villages has its own special character where you can browse antique shops or stroll round the weekly markets. Restaurants range from traditional French fayre where you can eat the plat du jour with the locals to the more splendid Relais Chateau restaurant in the next village.

Notes: The salon & dining room both with monumental fireplaces open off the impressive entrance hall and have access onto the sunny courtyard. A large well equipped kitchen with range style cooker & 2 dishwashers, has a stone fireplace and informal sitting/dining area. One wall is glass and opens onto the stone dining terrace giving views over the lake & surrounding countryside. The huge master bedroom suite has two fireplaces, a dressing room with stone balcony and luxuriously appointed bathroom with separate shower. Other bedrooms are individually decorated and are arranged to offer flexibility with most twin rooms having zip and link beds. Some rooms are huge and can accommodate extra beds, others can be closed off to provide a suite or family accommodation. Two room are on the pool terrace, the upper room being accessed from the lower which can also be used as an extra sitting room. The pool is on an upper terrace away from the main rooms and has its own barbeque and dining area
