Bucharest Vacation Rental apartment

The amenities and location, and the thoughtfulness and concern of the owner and neighbours made this apartment the perfect place to stay for my daughter and I. In fact, the owner of the apartment was incredible in all she did for us and we arrived in Bucharest for our first ever visit feeling very much at home - best of all, the warmth and welcome we were shown by the owner was reflected in the many wonderful people we met during the week-and-a-half we spent in the city.

With regard to the apartment, it is spacious, bright, and tastefully decorated. Everything you could need is provided. There are clear and convenient instructions for appliances and other things such as the internet, and this made everything easy. The apartment was spotless, and the neighbourhood peaceful. Historic sites, world-class shopping and the University are all within easy walking distance.

There are numerous choices for traditional or international cuisine at nearby restaurants or, alternatively, very complete grocery stores. Our favourite restaurant very quickly became the Hotel Horoscope, just 2 blocks down and across the street. I was able to try local dishes such as mamaliga and my daughter, who is less adventurous, could stick with things she knew. (If we needed to catch a taxi, this was also the corner). Continuing past the Hotel Horoscope you could cross the Piata Unirii with its fountains and continue another block to reach the large grocery store (Carrefour) around the corner on Bvd Corneliu Coposu (for convenience, there were heavy plastic carry bags for groceries in the kitchen of the apartment).

The walk past the fountains of the Piata Unirii to the houses of parliament and then back along Strada Lipscani
with the exposed archeological foundations of some of the oldest buildings in Bucharest, and then coming back along Saleri street and looking at the local glassworks was our favourite route.

We hope to have the opportunity to travel to Bucharest again, and we very much hope to stay here again.
