This charming and exclusive little 'lodge' of a home is one of 4 waterfront homes in an adorable and gracious group of 12 Nantucket Barn style houses which stand on shared acreage where long ago a camp used to exist. The camp cottages were replaced with attractive tall Cape style buildings which are maintained with gracious care and have an architectural consistency and charm (without bland sameness.) The Tall Barn style homes are dotted around a circular road, punctuated by a row of old fashioned mailboxes. LakeHouse is House Number 11, which is exclusive in its ideal spot, Right On The Water. Its parking area walks onto the lakefront deck, where you can enter the charming kitchen with maple countertops and (New) old fashioned painted pine cabinets. Antique-style true-divided-light windows wrap around the house, as does the balcony and deck. All three levels look out at the water, and all three levels give you access to the water. It is an incredibly unusual and charming home.

Because the dramatic vaulted great room (with beams and skylights and 20 foot stone fireplace) opens to the open-plan kitchen and dining area, there is plenty of room to gather and enjoy the beautiful space together, cooking delicious seafood meals, or grilling steaks while gazing at the lake... you can see your little ones playing on the beach from your kitchen sink, giving your the satisfaction that they are happy and only a few feet away. The kitchen has a new refrigerator, new convection oven, new gas cooktop fitted into a maple countertop. Wraparound wood counters, a butcher block island, charming pine cabinets, bead board walls, charming windows, shining wood floors... all contribute to a elegantly casual, refined but relaxing decor. The Crate and Barrel sofa is crafted of stripped oak branches (in a nice way!) and the big antique hutches and Armoires elevate the interior to the quality of a Great House, yet with country charm.
Inside Outside:
Whether you place your chair on the top floor balcony, the great room level decks and balconies, or on the brick patio below, you are in constant view of the magnificent water, just steps from the beach. We have several high-end waterfront homes, and none has the direct beach access that this Charming Lakehouse has for you. If we did not have a 'bylaw' saying it can only be rented by the 30 day period, this could be our most popular weekly vacation rental. But this gives you an idea of how peaceful, well cared-for this enclave is, and how your peace and privacy are well protected. Take your laptop to the deck and enjoy the WiFi provided, or go down the spiral staircase to the beach level bedrooms and exit onto the brick patio where gardens and walls wrap their arms and provide privacy while allowing the panorama of lakefront. Bring your kayaks right up to the patio, or leave them tethered to the dock. Enjoy a moonlit outdoor shower with the sound of the water lapping on the shore.
