“Seas the Day” is a private home that we enjoy sharing with others that love the sea as much as we do. Our home is inspired by Coastal Living Magazine and has a classic nautical theme to its spacious interior. Our contemporary home is located on the charming Northern California coast between the historic town of Mendocino and the artist community of Gualala. You will stay in a magical 1700 square foot custom-built home and experience incredible white water views from every room of our lovely 2-bath, 2-bedroom, getaway retreat. The cathedral ceilings, bay windows and upper and lower decks, ensure commanding views of the Pacific Ocean, Point Arena Light House, meadows, wildlife and unforgettable sunsets. Play our baby grand piano or listen to the BOSE surround sound. If you pull out our comfy teak lounge chairs, you'll relax to the sounds of the waves and see migrating whales.

Cindy Morey Owner purchased this house in 2002
I fell in love with this property the moment I stepped onto the upper and lower decks! The commanding views, the open areas with lots of wildlife, the beach, the coast line and the towns that I can get to for a days outing. I just love sitting on my deck, listening to the birds and the waves. I enjoy sharing it with others who love the ocean and wilderness as much as I do.
All of the above. The location, the area, the views, the wildlife, and most of all the house. I love the open floor plan, the high ceilings, the kitchen and everything about it.
This is a wonderful vacation home (better than described!)
New, with an open floorplan that includes lots of windows allowing light to fill the common areas, even in the foggy and cloudy weather. All the comforts of home including fluffy duvets, tub and showers, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and miles of counterspace.
Not right on the beach, but you would not want to be; it is up on a high point and has an unparalleled view of the Point Arena lighthouse out on the tip of the crescent of Irish Beach stretching out before you. Beach access is within walking distance, down an adjacent road.
The Mendocino Coast is spectacularly rocky with small towns dotting the winding road, both north and south. Perfect home base to just relax and unwind or to go day tripping inland to the Anderson Valley, and take in some redwoods as well. The area is particularly friendly to bicyclists, although bike lanes seem virtually non-existent. Kayaking available on the various rivers in the area. Recommend the Albion River Inn for dinner, ($$) about 2 miles south of the charming town of Mendocino.
It is evident that the owners take great pride in their lovely home. We appreciate and respect the opportunity to enjoy it. I especially enjoyed the baby grand piano!
My wife and I felt right at home the moment we walked in the door. The decor and layout of the house was so open and welcoming. We enjoyed the daily visits of the local deer and one morning had three of them grazing just off of the patio. We highly recommend this house to anyone that is looking to kick back and relax.
The house is beautiful, cozy and clean. The view is spectacular as is the surrounding area. Excellent price. Owners were so helpful. Such a great get away!
The house is great - very well stocked and comfortable, it even has a piano! For that, the house gets four stars. However, the outdoor photos are misleading, which was disappointing, and that's the reason for the three star rating.
It appears that the house is a beachfront property but this is not the case. There are roads running along two sides of the house between the house and the ocean. And although there are a lot of window that offer great views, there are no unobstructed views of the ocean - every view includes houses or rooftops and the photo of the view from the rooftop deck is zoomed in. We realize that owners want/need to make their houses look desirable but would have appreciated full disclosure and more accurate photos (the indoor photos were accurate). When I contacted the owner to see about getting a refund for our remaining days and moving to a beach front property. She was kind and offered to refund one night of our stay but not the remaining nights. In the end, we decided to stay instead of losing money on our weekend.
If you're not concerned about having an oceanfront property, this house does have good views and everything you'll need to be comfortable during your stay.
We (two adults and a two-and-a-half-year-old) greatly enjoyed our week at this property. It's as stunning as it looks in the photos and the location is ideal for peace and quiet, while still having the wherewithal to get all the supplies you might need within a few miles by going to Manchester, Point Arena or Elk. Mendocino and Gualala within fairly easy reach, too, although we found that we spent most of our time at the house and on the beautiful beach below it.
We had a slight issue with a broken key on arrival, but Cindy was very helpful in sorting out a locksmith and getting us into the house as quickly as possible - and this at 5pm on a Friday evening! There's lots of information about the local area in the house, with a couple of folders full of website print-outs about the area.
The kitchen is beautiful and very well-stocked, the house is decorated in a lovely manner and the beds are comfortable. Overall, a wonderful place to stay.
We thank you, Cindy, for sharing your ocean home with us! Even though it was quite cool and windy outside, it didn't matter because we could stay indside and see all of the spectacular ocean views and the deer and quail through the huge windows in the living room. We loved using your binoculars and telescope too. The kitchen has every utensil and appliance any one would need. We enjoyed looking at the interesting decorations and artifacts that are throughout the house. We actually had to make ourselves leave the comfort and beauty of the home to go "do something". We will definitely keep your home in mind for a future visit to the north coast.
Manchester is 4 miles South with a full size grocery store and a post office.
Point Arena is 8 miles South and it has a bakery, cinema, restaurants, fishing pier and wildlife sanctuary.
Mendocino is 45 minutes North with quaint shops, restaurants, summer music festivals hiking, Abalone diving and kayaking.
Fort Bragg is another 15 minutes North of Mendocino - take a ride on the Skunk Train hike in the sand dunes or in the botanical garden and wine tasting. Hunt for treasures on glass beach. Beer tasting and homemade ice cream.
Other Activities: Kayaking, canoeing, horse back riding, hiking, golfing, bird watching, whale watching
