Harbor Island Vacation Rental cottage

"The House by the Sea", as we like to call it now, was just as it said it would be and more! In telling friends and family about our vacation on Harbor Island, we've been using the word perfect. We couldn't have asked for a more lovely house to spend our honeymoon in. The attention to detail was amazing. The warm blues, soft whites and touch-of-sun yellow in the furnishings were so appropriate for the location by the water. They created a relaxing environment. There was a picture on a wall in the living room that said, "Heaven is a little closer...in a house...by the sea." Our experience confirmed this to be true!

The book selection included some favorite authors, and the video/DVD/music selection was impressive. We enjoyed the surround sound system in the living room/kitchen, the bedroom and even on the screened in porch! You had the choice as to where you wanted the sound/music to play. The well-appointed kitchen provided just what we needed. The washer and dryer came in very handy at the end of our stay, as we traveled home with a suitcase full of clean clothes! The house was extremely well-maintained and the service provided by the rental agency was professional, yet friendly. We enjoyed riding the bikes that were provided with the house. We also played outdoor tennis at the club and wandered down to the beach. We toured Hunting Island State Park, which is just around the corner from the house. The lighthouse there is beautiful! We spent a day in Savannah, GA, which was about a 1 1/2 hour drive, and we also spent a day in the Charleston area, which was about a 2 hour drive. We toured Boone Hall Plantation, which we learned is where some scences from "The Notebook" were filmed. Beaufort was about a 15 minute drive from the house, and there we found the supplies we needed. The location of the house was very private and quiet. We felt like we were in our own dream world. The views were breath-taking, and it was difficult for us to leave!

We would highly recommend this property to anyone seeking an escape from responsibility into a perfectly, dreamy world of pure bliss by the sea! We would definitely return to "The House by the Sea" in a heartbeat!

My husband and I enjoyed a week at Bikini Bottom Cottage. The house is so adorable and extremely well kept. A ride on the golf cart became our nightly adventure and we know every inch of Harbor Island now! We highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking for the perfect getaway spot. Easy access, friendly people (including the neighbor, Glenn) and beautiful scenery that you can't beat anywhere else. The cottage was perfect for us and we even had a bottle of champagne greeting us as we arrived!

our Bikini Bottom Cottage vacation was even better than we expected. The property was very clean, well-maintained, and the bright beach decor was inviting and relaxing. The amenities were perfect. One could tell that the owner put a lot of thought into making her guests' stay an enjoyable and relaxing one. Situated on a cul-de-sac, it is perfect for added privacy although we did enjoye talking with the next door neighbor, who even sent us home with Harbor Island pictures as momentos. The cottage surround sound system and lanai were a treat. The golf cart and beach bikes were excellent amenities to encourage island sightseeing and finding fun at the nearby beach and pool. We grilled out at night after spending time sunbathing and relaxing at the pool and picnicing and wave crashing on the beach.

There is a lot to do! Wildlife sightseeing around Harbor Island, lighthouse and beach exploring on nearby Hunting Island, and visiting historic Beaufort and Parris Island. We also took day trips to Savannah, Georgia, Charleston, & Hilton Head Island where there was a lot of history to take in, breathtaking views, and shopping!

McPhearson's Serious Barbecue in Port Royal and Panini Cafe in Beaufort were delicious places to dine out when you aren't taking advantage of the grill and well-equipped kitchen at the cottage.

We would most definitely recommend this property to family and friends. We love sharing our experiences at Bikini Bottom Cottage with whomever will listen. It was an excellent experience and one that we won't soon forget!
