Tucked away in the beautiful Berkshire village of Savoy, Massachusetts, our well-appointed cabin is the perfect lodging alternative to impersonal hotels or camping. Located in the middle of nowhere, yet in the middle of everything! We neighbor more than 15,000 acres of State Forest with miles of hiking and biking trails and natural attractions like Tannery Falls, the highest waterfall in Massachusetts, and Balance Rock, a house-sized boulder left behind by receding glaciers, both within a short hike. We’re just seven minutes to the historic Mohawk Trail and 15 minutes to the bustling Deerfield River and whitewater rafting outfitters. We're also just a short drive to Mass MoCA, the largest center for contemporary arts in the United States, and many more cultural destinations! Located 2.5 hours from Boston and Providence, 1.5 hours from Hartford and Albany, and 4 hours from NYC, we’re closer than you think!

Art museums like Mass MoCA, the Clark Art Institute, and Williams College Museam of Art are just a short ride over the mountain into North Adams and Williamstown.   • Off the kitchen is the newly renovated spa-like bathroom. Everyone comments on the elegant limestone flooring and soothing sage walls & crisp white wainscoting. The new corner shower has glass walls and rainfall shower head. Fluffy white towels are within easy reach of the shower door as well as a variety of luxury products for your convenience. Forget yours? We’ve got you covered. Since you can’t (read: won’t want to) just run out to the store for a forgotten toothbrush or other personal item, we’ve done our best to compile a collection of new ones for you!

  • On the main floor in the living area there is a queen sized pull out sofa bed. Upstairs the “bunk room” is the first room you’ll see. A small window overlooks the backyard in the west where the sunsets filter through the forest in brilliant shades of saffron, gold, and crimson. In this room there are two twin beds, a full bed, dressers and a large closet. Walk through to reach the master bedroom and see the harmonious Berkshire hills to the east out the picture window, which is above the king sized bed. Room darkening shades tempt sleeping in, but don’t sleep too late as you’ll want to enjoy everything the area has to offer! We can accommodate up to eight people, but the cabin is best suited for a couple or a group of four to six.

The woodstove is in!: Our soapstone woodstove has been installed and looks amazing! The beauty of soapstone is that even after the wood has burned the stone continues to radiate heat for hours and hours giving off an even heat throughout the cabin. There is cord of firewood stacked neatly on the back porch so you'll never have to trudge through the snow to get more!

Early Spring Special: Stay 6 nights, get the 7th night free! For the months of March, April, and May. Must be Saturday to Saturday rental period. Call or email with questions!

Other Activities: whitewater kayaking, canoeing, rafting, tubing. fly fishing. xc/downhill skiing. snowshoeing.

My girlfriend and I (along with our dog) spent a weekend in Savoy in October 2009. I proposed to her at nearby Tannery Falls and surprised her with the house rental. Nate really goes above and beyond with every aspect of this house. He prepped the house with champagne, flowers, chocolate, and even started a fire for us in the wood stove on the morning we were set to arrive. He gave us recommendations for eating and hiking as well. The house itself is beautiful and clearly is a result of Nate's attention to detail. It has a perfect balance of cozy and modern decoration (and one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in). At the end of the weekend, there was really nothing more we could have asked for. Perfect house for a perfect weekend. Thanks Nate!

The house was everything and more for a great relaxing weekend of hiking, river tubing and just relaxing on the front deck enjoying the beautiful scenery. The house was very clean and well stocked with all essentials and more!! I felt like I was sharing my friend's home. I reccommend it for a reuniting of family or friends where the stress and interruptions of everyday work/life can be lifted and left on the doorstep.

13th Annual Sister Weekend

This annual Labor Day weekend get away was one of the best my sisters and I have ever had.. and mainly because of the outstanding accommodations we had in Savoy, MA at your beautiful cottage in the woods. From the minute we stepped in the door (it was like stepping into a Pottery Barn catalog) to the basket full of ideas and activities, to the night lamps you pack in the knapsacks.. you do not miss a detail. I would certainly come back to Savoy and highly recommend this home to all of my friends looking for a retreat.

I loved staying here! My sisters and I had such a wonderful time over Labor Day weekend. This home was so clean and comfortable that we hated to leave. Tubing down the Deerfield River was our favorite activity and only 10 minutes away! I would definitely go back and highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a quiet place to relax and has all the amenities of home...and more.

A very Relaxing Retreat

This rental is truly a "home away from home". There are lots of roads and trails to explore right outside the door. It is very well equipped,comfortable, and very clean. If you let the owners know ahead of time what your interests are ( hiking, art, events, etc) they will point you in the right direction. If you forget to ask, there are many local maps and brochures that were available in the house. Make sure you buy groceries before you arrive, because the big towns are not close by.
