Savoy Cabin Rental Photos and Description
2 bedrooms plus pull out queen sofa, 1 full bath, sleeps 6
Tucked away in the beautiful Berkshire village of Savoy, Massachusetts, our well-appointed cabin is the perfect lodging alternative to impersonal hotels or camping.
Located in the middle of nowhere, yet in the middle of everything! We neighbor more than 15,000 acres of State Forest with miles of hiking and biking trails and natural attractions like Tannery Falls, the highest waterfall in Massachusetts, and Balance Rock, a house-sized boulder left behind by receding glaciers, both within a short hike. We’re very close to the historic Mohawk Trail and 30 minutes to the bustling Deerfield River and whitewater rafting outfitters. We're also just a short drive to Mass MoCA, the largest center for contemporary arts in the United States, and many more cultural destinations!
Located 2.5 hours from Boston and Providence, 1.5 hours from Hartford and Albany, and 4 hours from NYC, we’re closer than you think!
Your first steps at Nine Black Brook will be onto our wrap around deck with Adirondack chairs and an intimate table for two overlooking the Berkshires; perfect for your morning coffee or candle lit dinner! It's difficult to turn your back on the hills, but turn the key and step into the sun porch. Here you're likely to fall asleep while reading a good book at least once during your stay!
As you step through the French door into the living area, the cool sage green walls set the tone for your vacation. Immediately, a sense of tranquility and relaxation sets in as you eye the fireplace and neatly split & stacked firewood that stretches to the ceiling. But don't sink into the deep club chairs or couches just yet, there's plenty more to see.
Make your way into the sunny eat-in kitchen and you'll realize why it's the room that everyone always ends up in. The table expands to seat six comfortably, eight if you really like the person next to you. What the kitchen is lacking in counter space, it makes up for in storage space. From utensils, frying pans, lobster pots, and dishes to fun vintage '50s egg beaters and ice cube trays (you have to see those), everything you could possibly need is here, including these essentials:
Electronic start gas stove
Drip coffee maker, French press, & grinder
Toaster oven & blender
Off the kitchen is the newly renovated spa-like bathroom. Everyone comments on the elegant limestone flooring and soothing sage walls & crisp white wainscoting. The new corner shower has glass walls and rainfall showerhead. Fluffy white towels are within easy reach of the shower door as well as a variety of luxury products for your convenience. Forget yours? We've got you covered. Since you can't (read: won't want to) just run out to the store for a forgotten toothbrush or other personal item, we've done our best to compile a collection of new ones for you.
Another collection we've put together is in the cozy library. It's easy to see yourself lying on the couch with a best-seller or classic enjoying a glass of wine or dark local brew. Here you can look over the trail maps & field guides to plan your next day or break out the cards or board games... remember those?
Pass through the library and go up the stairs to find the bedrooms. The 'bunk room' is the first room you'll see. A small window overlooks the backyard in the west where the sunsets filter through the forest in brilliant shades of saffron, gold, and crimson. In this room there are two twin beds, and a full bed. There are dressers and a large closet. Going through a door for privacy you walk through to reach the master bedroom and see the harmonious Berkshire hills to the east out the picture window, which is above the king sized bed with memory foam matrress. Room darkening shades tempt sleeping in, but don't sleep too late as you'll want to enjoy everything the area has to offer!

I own a property management company specializing in vacation rentals. I love the water and enjoy sailing every chance I get, when I can't get out on the water there is no place I would rather be than in the Berkshires
I carefully select the listings I represent, so you can be assured you are staying in a property I have stayed in and am confident you will enjoy.
I enjoy hosting vacation rental travelers as you are the most adventurous, interesting folks I have had the pleasure to rent to. I look forward to welcoming you!
Ryan purchased this cabin in 2007
Why Ryan chose Savoy
Nate and I purchased this home in the Winter of 2007. We both grew up with family retreats in the woods that had been sold as we got older. We missed the simple pleasures of sitting by the fire with a good book, cooking a crock of chili all day, or telling ghost stories by the unending campfire. This cabin has become our sanctuary from the frenetic pace of Boston, deadlines, and work. We hope you can enjoy this calming respite we have worked to create here.
What makes this cabin unique
The cabin has been completely renovated down to the studs. We worked to keep the character of the house intact, while updating it with modern conveniences. There is WiFi available for those who can't completely disconnect, a reading library for those who can, and plenty to do around the area for those who are able to pull themselves from the adirondack chairs on the front porch, or the hammock out back!
Guestbook comments from the owner
Nate + Ryan,
We had an amazing time staying here. Your home is beautiful and cozy. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. We were able to relax and undwind and were able to have our dogs with us. Which, by the way, they loved the trails and yard. We look forward to staying here again. Thanks again! We will spread the word!
