Guestbook comments from the owner

Randy and Mitzi –

Just a note to let you know that all went well with our stay at your home! We have enjoyed it very much and it was a very fun and different Christmas for the family and our two granddaughters (7 and 3yrs). The nine inches of snow that fell a day before we arrived was perfect and allowed for some sledding at the cabin and in the park. We enjoyed the table tennis also with a couple family tournaments! Overall things were just great and we’d definitely like to come back sometime. The girls enjoyed the deer and the whole herd of elk!

Hope you have a great 2012!

Thanks much,

D Z

Wonderful, but...

  • 4 of 5
This cabin is actually nicer than the VRBO pictures imply, especially the view. We could have sat in the living room all day and watched the snow covered mountains. And there was much more space than we anticipated. Having said that, however, we were surprised at some of the little things that were either missing, inadequate or not working properly, especially in light of the owners being what we would call very "particular". For example, there was a grand total of one (1!) well worn spatula, zero ice cube trays, two or three very old pans, and missing steak knives. The front porch light did not work, many of the kitchen cabinet doors were loose, and the drain in the main floor bathroom was very slow to drain. The carpets on the kitchen floor were extremely slippery (our grand daughter came down hard after slipping on it). I wish we had just removed them. Like I said: strange that a place so nice would have so many little nickel and dime things out of whack. Hopefully these really minor items get resolved so that this cabin gets the A++ rating it deserves.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for responding with the wonderful comments about the snow capped mountains views from Moose Mountain Lodge as they are spectacular; we always like to under sell and overproduce. So delighted you were pleased. We also appreciate you letting us know about areas that need improvement to make stays at Moose Mountain even more wonderful. Throw rugs in the kitchen and main floor bath are being replaced the week of Feb 1 when we head to Estes for a maintenance trip from eastern NE . We are also upgrading the pots and pans in the kitchen as well as the knives and spatulas, and we'll change the light bulb on the front porch. Without a guest letting us know, we would not be aware of minor items at Moose Mountain that can make guests' stays even more enjoyable. Our Best, Mitzi and Randy

Wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5
We went to estes with our children and their grandparents. We loved the cabin! Comfortable couches, beautiful views. The hot tub was fantastic, especially in the snow. The kitchen was very well equipped. We loved the large table to accommodate everyone. Washer/dryer on site a big plus with children. Short drive to RMNP as as well as downtown estes and the grocery store, etc. Kids loved the ping pong table in basement. The neighbor is very quiet which is a huge plus. Wildlife roam around property which is also beautiful.

Fantastic Mountain Cabin

  • 5 of 5
Loved Randy & Mitzi's Mountain Lodge Cabin! It looked just like the pictures on vrbo. The cabin was very clean well kept and had every thing that you needed, all you have to bring are your toiletries. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful fireplace, the hot tub and the views were amazing. We were especially delighted to see the deer right on the property and saw plenty of elk in the surrounding areas. The basement was a plus for the grandchildren. The cabin was very close to Rocky Mountain National Park which was so convent for hiking, sleigh riding and animal watching. The town of Estes was also very nice. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend the cabin to families and couples of all ages.

Pre Christmas visit to the Rockies

  • 5 of 5
We surprised my parents by taking them to Estes Park for a long weekend. We love to come to visit. We normally stay at a local hotel, so you can imagine their 2nd surprise when we pulled up to the cabin. They where confused at first, but thrilled once we stepped in doors. Such a great place, we enjoyed sitting by the fire and being able to relax. The cabin is well appointed and just feels like home. Close to town and local sights. We saw mule deer every morning and night. Great views. It even snowed a little. Randy and Mitzi where great to work with and great communicators. The time went quick, but special memories where made! Moose Mountain Lodge is a perfect place to stay when you are enjoying all the Rockies have to offer!

Dream vacation

  • 5 of 5
My husband and I have visited the area several times but this was a first for our kids and grandaughter and they were wowed by the cabin! It aling with the property enhanced their whole experience! It was as if we actually arranged to have wildlife in the yard every morning and evening! They had never seen anything like it! The cabin was much more than pictures can even portray! Everything from the location to the decor was perfect! There is no price you can put on view from hot tub whether it be the big star filled sky at night or the mountain view with wildlife a plenty during the day! Great place for a family get away that is accommodating to all ages! Cant imagine staying ANYWHERE else on our return visits!

Wonderful Family Venue

  • 5 of 5
Every year, we vacation at a destination where our four school-age and teenage children can be exposed to a national attraction. This year, we decided to go to Colorado for some quiet mountain time, and that is exactly what we all enjoyed. The cabin was spacious, clean, well-appointed and convenient to Estes Park for when we ventured into town. Our kids enjoyed the ping-pong table, hot tub and porch swing. They also got to see a variety of wildlife! The location was ideal for us as we hiked the RMNP several times and went into Fort Collins one day for white water rafting. Compared to other vacations, we spent more time just being together and this venue was a perfectly relaxing venue. The owners were informative and responsive. They clearly take great pride in their property which makes the rental experience all the better.
