Notes: We can provide kayaks, canoes, sleds, guides, a BBQ grill, some bikes, games etc. We tend to leave our guests alone because most people who go here want to get away from it all. I offer babysitting (me or my daughter) for a fee. You can do your laundry but I will change the beds and towels and clean the house when you leave. Check in time is generally 4 PM, and checkout is around 11 AM. We are very flexible. This is an old farm house, and I tell guests not to expect the Taj Mahal. Cell phones really don't work well, but there is a wall phone to call 911 in an emergency. People can call you at the farm. If you want to let the kids camp, then that's fine. This is a down home atmosphere where you can sit and relax without all the daily running around. This is the kind of place that I used to dream of when I lived in NYC- clean air, water and peace and quiet. Come on up. Reservations are booking fast. Wireless Internet service available for free outside of the local library.

Bluff Mountain Retreat

Janice Duka Stony Run
Review Submitted: January 3, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2007
We came here to get away from it all and it was the perfect place. The setting is devine. The old house was big enough for all of our party, we had three familys and lots of kids (5) and there was ample room to sleep. There are lots of games in the living room and lots of books to read. The town is within walking distance, so we did that.
The floors are a bit crooked, but the farm is over 100 years old so it was what is to be expected. McGee is a great guide. He took us way up in the woods and we found some moose to look at. Lisa did everything that she could to make our stay enjoyable. She even gave us fresh eggs from the chickens that she keeps in the barn.
The bird watching is great too and so are the sunsets.
We would recommend this place for anyone who likes Vermont and relaxing.

We are going to go back in the winter to snowmobile
