Two hours from the Bay Area. Fully furnished, kayaks included. Sleeps up to eight, one bath. A restful home, with privacy, birdwatching, swimming: 'A return to earlier, uncomplicated vacation times.' Unique ranch style house located on the spring-fed waters of beautiful Blue Lakes. This home was chosen by the illustrious Fine Home Building Magazine as the top ten houses of 2004. Article at link below. Very pet friendly house with fenced dog yard. This Lake is like a private lake - there is no easy public access. There are few people on the lake itself, and with the property having over 1000 feet of lakefront and 30 acres of woods behind it, privacy is not an issue. Bring your non-motorized water toys or use our kayaks. There is only one very quiet neighbor close by. There is the drone of Hwy 20 traffic across the lake (1/3 mile). This was the most relaxing, beautiful, enjoyable family outing that we have ever had! The house and the grounds are perfect for easy living. The kids and the dogs are in heaven and the adults are fat and happy watching them frolic! I cannot recommend this house highly enough. Sharon and Gene are delightful and accommodating. We are happily going back again in a month!

We spent a week here around Memorial Day and had one of the most relaxing vacations we've ever spent. Our dogs loved the lake (a bit too cold this early for us) and even got in the sailboat with us to putter around the lake. Very well equipped cabin, very private, bald eagles outside your window. Lots to do in the area as well. We highly recommend the cabin and the area and hope to go back next summer.

We absolutely love this place. The house could not be more unique and peaceful. It is very well-equipped with everything you need for a low-key getaway with nature, dogs and friends. I hesitated to even give this review because I want this place to stay a secret, but alas, I was compelled to overcome my greed and recommend it. We're going back this year and renting Gene and Sharon's White House next door as well. Can't wait!

This was my dream vacation. To be able to sit on the dock, paddle around on a kayak, float on a floatie, watch my dog jump off the dock, and no one else around to disturb my euphoria...is nothing but pure joy for me! The house is so inviting, comfortable and efficient. You can feel all the good times had and those yet to come. I really enjoyed the categorized album of CD's from Classical to my favorite, Country. I definitely felt welcomed there and not at all like I was staying in a stuffy hotel. I plan on coming back for a week's worth next time...3 nights was just not enough! Thank you Sharon & Gene for sharing such a wonderful place!

WOW- nothing like having a Bald Eagle watching you with breakfast coffee. Place is wonderful, when we were there the wildflowers were popping, the lake was too cold to swim (early April) so just kayaked around all by ourselves. the only negative was some traffic noise from across the lake on the weekend. we will come back in the summer. The dogs even went kayaking!!
