CHARMING COTTAGE ON SANDY BEACH WITH BEAUTIFUL LAKE VIEWS FROM LARGE DECK

My wife and I have stayed here multiple times with our two young (ages 5 and 2) children, and I can confirm that the description is very accurate. This is a GREAT family location with a very nice, private beach and dock. One of the nicer amenities is the deck with stairs to the beach. The deck is well shaded and has a sliding screen that opens from the cottage onto it so you can leave it open and hear the general lake sounds all day. There are LOTS of windows in the cottage which help give it a fairly airy feel, including two large windows in the ceiling of the living room that help bring in direct sunlight. There is also a single car garage, although I'm not sure if that is consistently available for use or not.
Lake Missaukee (the lake the cottage fronts on) is a very nice lake with a medium level of jetski/boat activity. Great sunsets off the deck pretty routinely, as well as a picnic table so you can eat out on the deck (which became a habit during our stay). There is a firepit on the beach which we also enjoyed. The town of Lake City is about a 5 minute drive away with an extremely nice state park beach access as well as plenty of little restaurants (and bars if you so desire). There is a grocery store a few miles from the cottage so you don't have to go all the way into town for your groceries, which is nice.
The cottage is in a nice little residential neigborhood with paved streets, so there is plenty of room for little ones to ride bikes if well supervised. The nearest large town is Cadillac, which is about a 10 -15 minute drive. Plenty of amenities there, though, including Meijer and Super Wal-Mart (if you need necessities) and plenty of restaurants, both local and chain. Cadillac has a nice 5 screen movie theater, as well, and a killer coffee shop just a block away (Shay Station, as I recall) - made for a perfect "date night."
