Ideal for families and couples this is a large corner, south facing, ground floor Apartment situated in a small private, secure, gated condominium of just 20 apartments. Set around a communal swimming pool with beautiful landscaped gardens, in a peaceful location yet near to Carvoeiro with its beach, bars and restaurants only a few minutes drive away. The small village of Sesmarias with a mini market, bars and restaurants is a ten minutes walk. The large Intermarché supermarket is a short drive away. The apartment is situated in an elevated position with fabulous sea views. From the lower terrace you have an open outlook towards the large shared swimming pool with separate children’s pool and poolside shower. The roof terrace has a built in BBQ and has fine sea and mountain views.

Nearby:: Boat trips can be taken from the beach at Carvoeiro to local beaches or to view the spectacular rock formations at nearby Algar Seco and otherwise inaccessible coves and beaches passing caves and blow holes on the way. Along the N125 towards Porches, known for its potteries and ceramics studios, there is an equestrian centre for those interested in horse riding and several water theme parks including Zoomarine where it is possible to swim with Dolphins. The peace and tranquillity of the Monchique Mountains, forests of pine trees and cork oaks, is only a short drive via the pretty mountain village of Caldas de Monchique, source of the local bottled water. The ancient Moorish walled town of Silves with its fort, archaeological museum and Saturday morning market makes an interesting inland excursion. Silves is also home to the atmospheric sea-food restaurant Marisqueira Rui which enjoys a reputation, with tourists and local people alike, as being one of the Algarve’s best!

Further afield:: For more ambitious excursions, Cape St Vincent and the fort at Sagres is the most westerly land fall of continental Europe and can be reached by car in approximately one and a half hours via the recently extended trunk road passing through countryside of the Western Algarve not previously seen by tourists. The rugged western coast is popular with surfers and, even in mid summer, is relatively uncrowded. The Guadiana River forms the Eastern border with Spain which can also be reached easily courtesy of the ‘Via Infante’ trunk route. The N125 gives access to the many places of interest along the way including the beautiful church of St Laurenco, with its tiled interior, near Almancil, the hill towns of Loule with its bustling Saturday morning market and popular picnic spots at Alte. A day trip to Lisbon and its atmospheric ‘Alfama’ district is also quite feasible

Sport:: The Algarve has become synonymous with golf hence can boast some of the best courses available most of which can be reached by car in under an hour. The closest are Pinta and Gramacho at the Pestana complex approximately three minutes drive away and Vale de Milho eight minutes drive away. Tennis is available at the Carvoeiro Clube de Tenis adjacent to the apartment where there is also a scuba diving school. The beaches of Albufeira, thirty minutes drive away, and Praia Grande at Feragudo offer water sports facilities, the latter being a popular windsurfing venue.

We had an excellent holiday. good food (walkable) at Island Cafe and Bon Bon. Best day we had was at Lagos - 2 boat trips dolphin watching and caves. It was thrilling!

Fantastic spacious apartment

Our sixth trip to Portugal and this apartment has to be the best we have stayed in. Located in a quiet area, spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped. Home from home, there was nothing more we could have wished for, except maybe England winning the match whilst we were there. The pool was ample size and the gardens extremely well maintained and very colourful. A safe place to be, especially if you have children as all the gates to the garden are locked. A 25 minute walk into Carvoeiro although hilly was not a problem. Great restaurants to choose from, our favourite being Casa do Bife, where your steak is presented to you on a hot stone for cooking yourself. This place is fantastic although I would recommend a hire car unless you like walking.

Immaculate apartment in well maintained complex.

The property was immaculate on arrival and we found it to have everything we required for a week's stay.

There was a very comprehensive information pack in the property which we found extremely helpful for exploring Carvoeiro.

We found the beds to be very comfortable and also enjoyed eating outside on the terrace overlooking the garden and pool area which are all beautifully maintained.

Very enjoyable and relaxing week's holiday and a great base for exploring the surrounding area.

We stayed at the apartment for 1 week and had a brilliant time. There were 5 of us in our party (3 adults & 2 kids). The accommodation was really spacious and the living room/dining area was really welcoming and comfy. There was also an en-suite which pleased our daughter no end. There was sky tv so you didn't miss your favorite soaps and plenty DVD's to take your pick from if you were staying in at night. The pool area was lovely and most days were spent just lazing by the pool. The complex itself was very well kept and peaceful. The apartment is really well situated for sun worshipers as it gets the sun all day round. We made good use of the barbecue area on the roof terrace but also ate out a few times. We hired a car for the week which was great for getting to the Intermarche or exploring the surrounding area's. When we went into town at night we would normally walk in (took about 20 minutes) and take a taxi back which only cost around €5. We are definitely looking to go back in the near future as it was one of the best holidays we have been on in years.

Wonderful!

We had a lovely holiday and the apartment was in a perfect location with a lovely pool which the children (aged 9 and 10) enjoyed. The apartment had air conditioning which was good so the children could escape from the midday heat - not all the apartments in this small complex have it. Neighbours commented that it was hot at night in other apartments - not a problem in this one! The beds were very comfortable and everything was clean. It was lovely to have a washing machine to wash our beach towels too - boring I know, but very nice to have! Fantastic selection of DVDs to keep everyone happy and also a good novel collection - so relaxed I read six in two weeks. We didn't use the tennis club next door but others did and said it was good. Would thoroughly recommend Slide and Splash for a day visit and also the annual sand sculpture exhibition. The local beaches are beautiful and very family orientated and the entire area is suited to families. All in all, no complaints and would thoroughly recommend it. Caroline

We visited this fantastic apartment in June 2009. It was beautiful and everything was exactly as promised.
The facilities were everything that you needed if not more and it was not just the usual place to sleep but felt like a home for the two weeks we were there.
The maid visited once a week and was lovely, she left the house spotless.
Carvoeiro is a beautiful village with plenty of restaurants, although we did eat in several times.
We will definitely be returning and have decided to take a friend with our teenage daughter.

Taxi to town was approximately 3-4 Euros, although you could walk at a slow pace in 30 minutes.

Would recommend the Cocktail bar at Monte Carvoeiro, Luis and Katia were so friendly.

Relaxing in the Sun

As always Carvoerio holds the charm and relaxing atmosphere I hoped to find on this holiday. The food is always excellent and although the village square was being upgraded this did not hold us back.

The areas around Carvoeiro are fantastic and just a short drive away (in May it was not too busy with traffic). My first time at Praia de Luz, but a beautiful location, certainly worth another trip to walk along the shoreline.

I certainly will be returning to this appartment, it is always maintained to the highest standard, clean and tidy on arrival. The roof terrace for BBQs is great, and what a view.

I would recommend this appartment to anyone. Arlene and John (the owners) are so helpful when making travel arrangements and are alway ready to give advise if needed.

Our apartment is only 40 minutes drive from Faro airport. Whilst most facilities are within 10 to 20 minutes walking distance car hire is recommended for exploring further afield. The small village of Sesmarias with a mini market, bars and restaurants is a ten minutes walk. Carvoeiro, which can be reached on foot in about 20 minutes (or a few minutes by car), caters for most holiday needs including a tourist information office, banks, pharmacy, restaurants and bars and is a pretty fishing village with its own beach from which small boats can be taken to visit the other beaches in the area. We are perfectly situated right next door to the Carvoeiro Clube de Tenis. There are twelve tennis courts, fitness centre, mini-golf, table-tennis, pool/billiard table, childrens playground and swimming pool. There is also a diving school. Other facilities include Beauty Salon, Hairdresser, Physiotherapist. There is a bar and restaurant serving breakfast and lunch.

Notes:
Furnishing is to a very high standard, including A/C, heating, a fireplace with a fitted woodburner for winter warmth and ambience making it ideal for year around occupation. Patio doors lead out from the lounge area to the covered terrace, furnished with dining table and chairs from which there is access to the pool area and gardens. Access to the private roof terrace is by way of the stairs next to the entrance door. There is a built in BBQ, table and four chairs, four sun loungers with cushions and a parasol and base. (In high season the sun loungers may be stored on the lower terrace for easier access to the pool area). There is an additional small sitting area next to entrance door which, facing east, is ideal for catching the morning sun! Whilst we ask that you do not smoke within the accommodation, ash trays are provided for use on the terraces.
