Westbrook Vacation Rental house

This cottage is nice and very close to the beach. There is a private beach but we did not find it until 2 days into our vacation instead of going straight at the end of the road go left and over the wall and there is a nice private beach. Walking out to Salt island at low tide is alot of fun. The beach at the end of the road that we thought was our beach is more of a boat launch. Great beach for walks to look for shells in the morning and very nice to walk at night also. All of the people in the neighborhood very very nice also. We also did some shore fishing and caught a few fish. The only negative thing about the beach is that there were a wicked lot of jellyfish.

It is close to everything there is a store right at the end of the street which is great for odds and ends. There are also alot of nice restaraunts (try the westbrook lobster shack great fish and chips!! and Bills restaraunt is also great and reasonably priced).

There are only a few things about the cottage. I would bring a large pot (for boiling seafood etc..) also the toaster is only a 2 slice toaster and it does not work well (only toast one side of the bread at a time). The house could use a few small repairs (screen door etc.) The back yard is very nice with a table that can seat 6 great for sitting out at night and chatting. Also there are 3 showers and 2 bathrooms which is great if you have 6 people like we did, and you can use all 3 and not even come close to running out of hot water. The outside shower is a plus for after you go to the beach to get all the sand off and it has hot water which is a great bonus.

Overall this is a great cottage it is very roomy and clean. The living room is huge, there is also a large dining room table which is great for the family to eat together. There is also an eat in kitchen which is great for breakfast. All the appliances work very well even though they are older. The grill works great!!. There is also a washer and dryer that are older but once you figure out how to use them they work well also (great bonus if you have small kids we know how they go through clothes).

Also a great bonus is there is an ice cream truck that comes every night and everything on the truck is $1!! (my 2 year old loved it!!) This is a great place for a family vacation the neighborhood is really quiet and there is not alot of traffic and it is close to every thing I would highly receommend.
