The photos are real! We visited this summer, and truly enjoyed our stay.
The sunrises & sunsets are amazing, a big yard and it’s surrounded by old flowering fruit orchards for interesting walks & birds. We even saw bald-eagles flying overhead!
The cottage was very well equipped with lots of windows, but the tap water was a little ‘hard’ (bring bottled water). Despite it’s age, it was pretty & spacious.
Owners live right next door, so can fix any problem if you ask.
The private beach very relaxing. The water was crystal clear & refreshing, but there was a strip of ‘round stones’ before the sand that made water-shoes or old sneakers a ‘must’.
It’s a very fun & safe private neighborhood. Everyone is very friendly, mostly ‘owners’.
However we did meet one exception: an old woman flagged us down on the dirt road, to scold us over ‘driving too fast’ and letting our dogs run loose. Must be the neighborhood Nanny. It was memorable, although we likely deserved it.
There are many restaurants, boats to lease & nightlife in nearbye ‘Sodus Point’, plus a wonderful pier for fishing & walking, beach & lighthouse park. We enjoyed the closer 'Steger Haus' restaurant, -great JagerSchnitzel & Prime Rib. Old fashioned but a great deal!
Shopping & supplies are in ‘Sodus Town’. (Town & The Point are two different nearbye places). Maxwell creek park is also very closebye with park, beaches & ponds.
There’s a nice brick fire-site for campfires & between the quiet starlit nights & peaceful swims, -we really enjoyed our stay.
Best, bargain vacation, we’ve enjoyed in years.
We hope to return, very soon!
