Haleiwa (Waialua) vacation condo (April 2009)

This two-bedroom condominium is well-appointed with tasteful interior decorations including artwork from the owner. The view through the sliding glass doors -- which you will want to keep open to hear the ocean -- is one of its best attributes.
The kitchen contains all that you could need to prepare your own meals with Henckel knives, new (as of 2009 and very quiet) dishwasher, blender, cookware, etc. Gourmands may sneer at the electric range (rather than gas), but we found it just fine.
While we took full advantage of the excellent kitchen, we also found time to try out Haleiwa Joe's (for dinner) which was quite nice as well as the North Shore shrimp trucks (for lunch) which delighted the whole family.
The apartment complex has a (small) pool, but why would you spend time there with the adjacent beach (or other nearby beaches)?
The main bedroom, with its sliding wall opening to the ocean view is lovely. However, the sliding wall (by its nature) does not offer great sound privacy.
Parking is on the street for renters (with reserved parking under the building for owners).
The property manager (Glynnis) was quite helpful from checking in with us (via cell phone) after our arrival in Honolulu, providing easy-to follow directions to the property, telling us about the weekly farmer's market, providing restaurant recommendations, and answering all of our questions.
The other tenants in the apartment building were quiet and friendly. However, on our arrival date (Saturday) there was a party in the adjacent building (and its adjacent yard) which did not end until early Sunday morning.
