Great Escape in Rosemary Private Pool, Spacious Home, 3,700SF

I cannot say enough good things about our recent stay (June 2012) at this lovely and incredibly spacious home. The property description and photos on VRBO are not hyperbole. The house is every bit that fabulous and more. Here are just some of the things my family loved about this home:

(1) The location. The location is ideal - we were so close to town and the pools, but we also had a boardwalk right out the front door that took us directly to the beach.
(2) The size and layout. This large home, with separate carriage house, has an ideal layout for multiple families. The home can easily accommodate four families, there are nooks and crannies galore for the kids to have quiet time, and all of the bedrooms are generously sized.
(3) The amenities. The lovely owner thought of everything - including ample linens, a fully equipped kitchen, two laundry rooms, an ice maker, a wine refrigerator, games for the kids, pool toys for the pool, and toiletries in the baths.
(4) The furnishings. All of the furnishings are tasteful and the beds are incredibly comfortable.
(5) The price. The weekly rate for this home is very competitive and much less than one would expect for a house of this caliber.
(6) The heated pool . You wouldn't think you would need a heated pool at the end of June in Florida, but it sure does make swimming much more enjoyable. Ordinarily, our kids love to go to the community pools, but they much preferred the heated pool at the Great Escape. We logged many hours in the beautifully landscaped pool and it was very nice having a place for the older children to play while the little ones napped. While some other homes have heated pools, they usually charge an extra fee to turn on the heater. This pool is heated with no additional charge.
(7) The owner . The owner was an absolute delight to work with and was incredibly responsive and professional.

In summary, this was our fifth visit to Rosemary Beach and the Great Escape was by far the best house we have rented (even though it was not the most expensive). We will definitely be back!

Our two families stayed here at the end of June. It was our 4th trip to Rosemary (and 4th house) and we couldn't have been more delighted with the location and layout of "The Great Escape". The center of town was around the corner, and the boardwalk outside the wide front porch led in a few short steps to the long green. It was a straight shot to the beach down the boardwalk which made it easy for our crew to get out the door. The beautifully decorated house provided a lovely respite from the summer heat, and we were touched by all the small details.. ample towels, 2 sets of washers/dryers, an extremely well stocked kitchen and soap/amenities in each bath. The carriage house was a superb bonus space. The secondary sitting/TV area upstairs was great for the kids, as was the pool just off the kitchen. After this experience, we will ALWAYS want a pool outside our door! Finally, the owner was truly wonderful to work with and made everything easy and so much more personal than working with a faceless rental agency.

I am late in writing this review but we absolutely LOVED our spring break vacation at this house. The decorations are beautiful and the owner is so lovely to work with (and very accessible if ever we needed her). The pool was great - a good size with a nice patio area around it and grill for cooking out. The home was spacious and perfect for our 3 families (we have 6 adults and 8 kids between the 3 families). We never felt like we were on top of each other at all. This home is right near the downtown RB area so we could walk to the shops and (to the kids delight) the yummy snow cone shop. We also were a few minutes walk from Camp Rosemary Beach which is great for young children if you are interested in that (Camp RB is a 2 hour craft/ activity at 11 am to get the kids out of the sun for a short time).

The front porch swing is the perfect place to hang out anytime - especially late at night. Such a lovely view down the boardwalk and you really feel like you are in another place and time. Rosemary Beach is such a special place!

This house is located right on the boardwalk so we could easily let the kids sit on the front porch without concern of cars and we rode our bikes & scooters to the beach (only took a few minutes). There was also a large grassy area within 1 minutes walk where we played games after dinner. It was just altogether lovely and charming. We loved every minute of our vacation at Great Escape and are definitely interested in renting it again.
