Photos and Description of the Paradox Lake vacation cabin rental Cabin - 1 Bedroom - 1 Bath - (Sleeps 2-4)

Highland Valley Cabins is a unique property as it offers peace and quiet and privacy in a very beautiful setting. We rent our cabin Spring/Summer/Fall, by the week or month. It has its own long driveway, porches, is fully equipped, and best suited for up to two people, though there is a small sleeping loft for addt'l sleeping. There is a marked hiking path, streams, fields, and hills to meander and observe wildlife. The property is on a quiet dirt road, pleasant for walking or jogging and is within 10 minutes of 4 pristine lakes. Owners live on the property and are very welcoming and available for assistance. Fresh flowers await your arrival; free fresh vegetables from our organic garden available in season. We rent to many artists, musicians, and writers who enjoy the extra studio cabin that goes with the main cabin and many return year after year.

Cozy cabin in the Adirondacks

SG & JA New York, NY
Review Submitted: July 6, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
Cabin was clean, comfortable, very cozy and private. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots/pans and utensils and it was easy preparing meals. The wood burning stove was also a nice feature along with a good sized front deck to relax. The owners were extremely friendly and made sure that everything was in working order. Another amenity is that they offer their guests vegetables from their garden in season and fresh flowers await you upon your arrival - a nice welcoming touch. It's located near several lakes and hiking trails and overall it was a peaceful, relaxing place to stay if you want to get away from it all.

Great place

Paula S. New York, NY
Review Submitted: July 6, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My husband and I spent a three-day weekend at Eve's Cabin and had a great time. Naomi and Joe are great hosts, really helpful with recommendations and generous with the fresh veggies from their garden. The cabin itself was spotless and had all the comforts we needed, including a wood-burning stove that kept us toasty all night. The whole place was quiet, beautiful, peaceful and I repeat -- clean! I'd recommend it to friends, couples, even people with kids because the sofa pulls out into a bed. You could also go with friends and rent out both cabins. That gives you each plenty of privacy but also room to hang out and have dinners together. The outdoor fire pit was something we were also excited about, but passed out too early every night from hiking to make use of it.

Private, beautiful location, friendly proprietors

Trillian Austin, TX
Review Submitted: June 15, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My husband and I recently spent a week at Ben's cabin, and our stay was perfect overall. Set away from other residences, the cabin is entirely private. The only external noise that we could hear was running water from a small river and birdsong. Trees surround the cabin except for a cleared meadow large enough for stargazing.
The cabin itself is well-furnished and comfortable -- all large windows and knotted pine. Although nights were chilly, a wood-burning stove keeps the cabin quite cozy.
Naomi and Joe generously encourage their guests to roam through the many wooded acres they own, including a beautiful hike to a mountaintop overlook of the valley below. While we were there, they also shared some delicious rhubarb and scallions from their garden -- both were delicious!
Our stay was relaxing and memorable, and we would definitely return. If you want a quiet vacation in a beautiful setting, these properties are a good bet.

Eve's Cabin

Ron & Jannene Oakfield, NY.
Review Submitted: June 10, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
My husband and I stayed in Eve's cabin for our 20th
Anniversary, we really enjoyed the privacy of the cabin. We
had fresh lilacs in the cabin the day we arrived that was nice
The price for one week was very reasonable. It was close to many hiking trails and lakes for fishing and canoeing as well as places to visit by car. We enjoyed talking with the owners of the property and they were very helpful when
we needed something.
Overall the area was very quiet and peaceful because it is so far off of Route 74.
We would recommend this property for those looking for a place with peace and quiet and privacy.

Ben's Cabin

George & Sammy Potsdam, NY
Review Submitted: January 20, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2008
My boyfriend and I stayed in Ben's Cabin for a week in August and we loved it! Although we were staying in the area to visit Lake George - which turned out to be a decent drive - the secluded cabin was a great place to come home to. We also spent a day kayaking on Schroon Lake which was a blast. It was great that free firewood was provided, because we had several campfires while we were there. Also, we ran out of propane - and subsequently hot water and the stove! - but it was taken care of in less than a day. The hiking areas around the cabin were great and we were so happy that our cat was allowed in the cabin with us too! Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely consider staying there again!!!
