Awe Inspiring!!!
If you have ever dreamed about staying in a villa on the Mediterranean with a view that is paradisaical, this is the place to stay. The pictures, as stunning as they are, cannot begin to compare to actually standing on the patio and beholding the view before you. We will never forget out stay. My husband had a conference to attend in Marseilles so we decided to stay outside the city and choose Cassis and Maison Rose. We traveled with another couple throughout France and visited many areas of interest during our 3 week vacation. This villa was our cherished place to stay. We planned to go to to Burgundy after Cassis but Maison Rose stole our hearts so we decided instead to spend those days here. The villa is comprised of two floors. The front door opens to the upper level where there is a dining area, kitchen with washing machine/dryer, a living room, two bedrooms and a patio with a grill. Our traveling partners choose this floor as theirs and we stayed in the lower level which had a dining room with enough seating for a large group. The kitchen had a dishwasher and a view of the Mediterranean so you could stare at the sailboats and yachts while working in the kitchen. We prepared most meals in the kitchen (my friend is a great cook and we ate very well) and ate in the dining room, The living room had great views of the sea, mountains and vineyards. Our patio had a huge table and chairs and this is where we ate our breakfast and some dinners or just drank wine while soaking up the view. There were two bedrooms on our level and the master bedroom had french doors leading out to the patio and the sumptuous view.
Francis, the owner, was fabulous and the description was right on target. He met us there and told us all the workings of the villa, including the wifi, He told us where to go for a good meal in Cassis and was always available if we had any questions. The town of Cassis is wonderful, too, with a many restaurants and shops. The only partially negative thing is that you really need a car to get around from the villa to the town center but that was not a problem since we had rented one in Lyon. All in all, if we had a chance to go to France again and had to choose between Paris and Cassis, we would choose Cassis in a heartbeat. This is a vacation that we will never forget thanks to Francis and Maison Rose.
Owner's Response: Owner's Note: During July and August, there is a shuttle bus
that starts from a parking lot, a 10 minute walk
away from Maison Rose, and takes you non-stop
to downtown, shops, and the beach. The shuttle runs every
15 minutes 8:00AM to midnight.
