Michael White purchased this cabin in 2007

We built this cabin in 2007 to serve as a family get-a-way for our hectic city lifestyle. You will notice the front of our cabin is all glass and brings the outdoors inside. Our family has watched many deer roam the property and our children have become experts at collecting all kinds of nature from our land. Nestled on a private 1-acre lot adjacent to National Forest, we spared no expense on the interior. Let’s face it…when you go on vacation—even for a weekend—beautiful surrounding and luxury accommodations help you to feel relaxed and pampered.

SUMMER VACATION

  • 5 of 5
We just spent a wonderful week at this cabin with our teenagers and another family that also has kids the same age. A total of 9 of us, yet it never felt crowded. Beautiful cabin, all the amenities you could ask for. We enjoyed the firepit in the back and spent many of the early evenings on the balcony, Deer would regularly wander through the property at dusk. Everything was first class. It's true, you definitely get what you pay for. Activities that we did in the area included horseback riding, ATV riding, fishing, hiking, and visiting two national parks. A memorable vacation for sure.

5 STAR RENTAL - PICTURES DO NOT TELL HOW AMAZING THIS HOME IS!

  • 5 of 5
The home and location are a GEM. We only stayed for 5 nights, traveling with my 4 teens. It wasn't long enough. I easily could have stayed a month and still not experienced all the adventures. Centrally located between Zion, Bryce, Grand Canyon, Brian's ski resort and about 6 or so state parks. I think there was room for about 12 in beds, and the house is big enough I imagine you would never feel crowded what so ever.

Here's some of our adventures:

Zion's - 50 mile drive but oh what a beautiful drive. For the brave and adventures make sure you do the Angels Landing hike, but it certainly ins't for the faint of hearts nor for those that don't like heights. Emerald Pools is a nice little hike, and the prize was the 16 mile in the river hike from Top Down through the Narrows. Make sure you apply for a permit early, but we were lucking enough to get drawn for last min. permit.
Lower Calf Creek Falls - A bit of a drive 100 miles 1 way, but a 6 mile round trip hike and in the middle 1 of the prettiest waterfalls I have ever seen. I would be happy to share pictures.
Make sure you visit Strawberry ridge/point at sunset. It's only 10 miles from house, but make sure you have great directions, ample time and a true SUV or ORV. It will take 30 mins + to get up that rd, but well worth it.

The house was beautifully decorated and fully stocked with all you necessities, my only regret was not being able to enjoy the house and it's amenities more. We stayed very active and were worn out every night. Duck Creek Village is a great village, located 1 mile away. Bring you 4 wheeler /ORV or rent one or you will feel left out as every one is driving one around town. Not kidding even little 5 and 6 yr olds cruising on their miniature 4 wheeler.

Can't wait to return and try a winter venture from here.

Michael was extremely professional and timely to deal with as well.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much we really work hard to have a great quality property. We have a very unique location that backs to national forest. The pictures don't really tell how nice our property is. Please read our reviews.

AMAZING PLACE

  • 5 of 5
As nice as this place looks in the photos, it was actually much bigger and more fascinating in real life. We stayed here last winter with friends and I'm way overdue for a review. This was an incredible place with everything one can need. In a particularly heavy snow week and cold weather, this place was warm, cozy, extremely confortable, and plenty of firewood. We had two infants with us and it was great for us and them. They loved the whirlpool bathtub and the place offered plenty of privacy on all 3 floors for all of us that stayed there. The kitchen was well stocked and even came with a wine refrigerator. We had no problems venturing for day trips to Zion or Bryce canyon national parks.

Summer or Winter, we are definitely going back. Thanks for letting us stay there.

GREAT PLACE - EVEN NICER THAN THE PICTURES SHOW

  • 5 of 5
My family and I stayed here in August 2012 for four nights. The location is great, driving distance to Bryce, Zion, and Cedar Breaks National Monument. The cabin is in the little village of Duck Creek Village which has a couple of restaurants, and a very small grocery/general store. Duck Creek Village is at high elevation, so it is MUCH cooler up here in the summer than down in the valley. The house is very well equipped with a modern kitchen and all the supplied you need to make some nice dinners. There is also a BBQ on the porch. The place is great for kids and one room even has bunk beds which my kids loved. If you visit don't miss renting ATV's at the Pinewood Resort (next-door) and go off road riding in the Dixie National Forest - it was the highlight of our trip.

Overall the cabin is great - it's very spacious and was perfectly clean when we arrived. One of my best experiences with VRBO, I hope to go back again. The owner was easy to reach and responsive - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

FAMILY VACATION (6/9/12 - 6/18/12)

  • 5 of 5
We rented the cabin for a family vacation - 5 adults and 2 children. The cabin is beautiful and exactly as advertised on the Homeaway website. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and we had one of our best family vacations ever. Mike, the owner, was easy to deal with and refunded our deposit promptly after we returned home.

We visited Zion NP, Bryce Canyon NP, Grand Canyon NP - North Rim, Coral Pink Sands SP,Cedar Breaks NM, Kodachrome Basin SP, and Red Canyon. All were spectacular and an easy day trip from the cabin. We also did several local hikes including Cascade Falls and Strawberry Point. Check in at the Duck Creek Ranger Station for trail free trail maps and info on the local area.

If you want to experience living in an awesome cabin located in a beautiful, pristine pine forest in Dixie National forest and see some of the best National Parks in the USA, then this is the place you should rent. A vacation like this creates lasting family memories and is a great stress reliever.

LOVED IT

  • 5 of 5
Location is great. Cabin is great. Views from all directions very nice. Semi-secluded. ATV trail access very convenient from this location and literally hundreds of miles of options. We really enjoyed our stay. Virgin River Rim trail an excellent hike and relatively close. Fun fishing at Navajo Lake just a couple of miles away. Deck with table faces east making a nice shady place for dining outside for lunch and dinner. We'll be back.
