We have been fortunate enough to enjoy a week at Puu Poa 412 and it was a most amazing experience. This was our 20th Anniversary trip and we wanted something EXTRA SPECIAL.... The Goodes have done a great job providing their guests with every luxury and convenience. The North Shore was where we spent the majority of our time and we fell in love with the little town of Hanalei. We lunched at the Dolphin one afternoon and watched the kayakers/paddle boarders go down the river. Had cocktails at the Kalypso one day and also the Hanalei Café. Both very nice & friendly. We especially enjoyed the Limahuli Botanical Gardens since we love to garden in Salt Lake City. Enjoyed the catamaran tour of the Napali Coast and guided waterfall hike with Princeville Ranch Adventures. The beaches were spectacular --- our favorite snorkeling was actually right here at Hideaways Beach ! We tried Tunnels Beach one afternoon, but we both agreed our Hideaways had the best fish ! The binoculars provided in 412 allowed us to watch two seals eating breakfast below the kitchen windows. The appliances/sound system worked great. A vacation we will NEVER forget. It was simply "the best" !

Fantastic in every way...

This was one of the best vacations my husband and I have ever had, and a large part of it was because of our stay in Penthouse 412. The condo is perched high with really amazing views of Bali Hai that I'm pretty sure no one else in the complex has. The interior is very comfortable and inviting, and the kitchen is very well equipped so that we had everything we needed to be able to cook dinners and make cocktails if we felt like staying in. The owners, Dick and Eleanor, are true professionals and thought of everything to make our vacation fabulous. The entire process from booking the property to the very last day of our stay was smooth and problem-free. Everything was well thought out and planned for. Dick was always super nice and very responsive anytime we had questions or concerns.

As for location of the complex, it is perfectly situated in Princeville with easy access to Hanalei. It is within walking distance to the beautiful St. Regis Hotel, where you can have dinner or enjoy cocktails with the most amazing views. Lots of couples get engaged here, and I can see why. There is also access to beautiful beaches. again within walking distance. During our two weeks in Kauai, we hiked the Kalalau Trail, went horseback riding, took an excursion on a catamaran, hiked around Waimea Canyon, shopped, and ate at some lovely restaurants. To be able to return from our excursions to our lovely condo each day with the amazing views was nothing short of paradise. We hope to return in 2016 to our happiest of happy places!

This was the most fabulous, amazing, memorable, and perfect vacation we have ever had. The location of the penthouse couldn't be better. We were only a few minutes from Hanalei where there are plenty of dining options to choose from if you don't feel like cooking. If you do end up cooking in the condo, your options are endless. Every kitchen utensil you could dream of could be found in one of the drawers or cabinets. Even if you decide to make a few cocktails at home, there is an ice machine on the refrigerator door, and not to mention, a Margaritaville frozen drink blender on the counter (some restaurants don't even have one!). The view from BOTH (yes there are two!) lanais are out of this world. When you are watching the beautiful sunset from either one, if you look down, you can see people standing on the grass below trying to get as good of a view that you have. If sunsets aren't for you, perhaps you would like watching the sea turtles or surfers in the ocean with one of two binoculars or a telescope. The bedrooms are large and comfortable, as are both bathrooms. Who doesn't like a whirlpool tub or a giant shower with more than four shower heads? Talk about a vacation! You would spend a lot more money per night if you rented from a five star resort, most of which don't have a full kitchen or ocean view such as the 412 Penthouse. There are so many perks listed in the description of this rental, and every single one of them is accurate. The pictures don't do it justice; the Penthouse is straight out of a magazine.

But what really made this the most wonderful experience we have ever had...are the owners, Dick and Eleanor. I have never rented from this caliber of people, and I'm sure I will never meet anyone as special as they are. The entire rental, from check-in to check-out to returning our deposit, was seamless. The organization and planning that they put into your experience at the 412 Penthouse is out of this world. It never felt like we were renting a condo for five days - it felt like we were staying in someone's home, always feeling their hospitality, generosity, and kindness with each waking moment, and knowing we were privileged guests to have the opportunity to spend our honeymoon on Kauai in their Penthouse. Dick and Eleanor made this vacation perfect for us. We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to stay in Penthouse 412, and cannot thank them enough. Dick and Eleanor, you are amazing people!!! xoxo

The best place in Kauai!

We have stayed in beautiful places all over the world but this was one of the very best! The location is absolutely perfect: sweeping views of Bali Hai, Hanalei Bay, and the cliffs and coral reefs directly below the condo.

You'll have a hard time getting up the motivation to leave the lanai and go to town. But do it because the area is spectacular. I walked to the Makai Golf course and drove to the Prince course only 5 minutes away. The charming village of Hanalei is a short drive through beautiful countryside. Great places to eat abound, but for our money, cooking on the lanai couldn't be beat.

The accommodations are exceptional. The appliances, furniture, and decorations are first rate. The owners have excellent taste and have created an peaceful and beautiful environment. The condo has absolutely everything you would need.

I have stayed in many vacation rentals and the results are mixed. After spending a lot of money on places that didn't live up to their description we were about ready to stop renting from the online sources. But this experience changed our minds! On top of that, the owners, Dick and Eleanor, were by far the best owners that we have ever dealt with. Dick provides the most helpful guides to how to enjoy your stay that I have ever encountered.

We didn't do much in the 10 days we were there: golf, snorkeling, hiking, watching movies, bird watching, dining, exploring...well, I guess we did do a lot! It just seemed so restful!

We go to Maui every year since our son lives there, but Kauai is now our favorite! We're already making plans for next year!

Absolutely Beautiful Condo, Exceptional Property Owners!

Our stay was amazing! The condo was beautifully furnished with a truly spectacular 180 degree view. The condo is extremely large and easily accommodated two couples. Everything we needed was provided including a huge 3D TV, extensive DVD library, DVR, and great sound system. The kitchen had a new dishwasher (extremely quiet!) and new microwave. On Kauai, it is often difficult to find condos with air conditioning, so we really appreciated this condo’s excellent A/C system. It was evident that the owners take great pride in their condo and continue to invest in upgrades. We enjoyed many evenings gazing at the rugged Na Pali peaks while eating dinner on the patios, yes there are two patios! We were within walking distance of a nice snorkeling beach, the St Regis hotel (for spa time and great dining) and easy driving distance from Hanalei, Kapaa, ziplining, horseback riding and gorgeous North Shore beaches.

The owners Dick and Eleanor were lovely to work with. Dick is truly the most accommodating and organized owner we have ever rented from! He is a wealth of information and goes out of his way to assure everything is perfect during your stay. Our trip couldn’t have been better! Dick and Eleanor, thank you for sharing your home with us and making this a wonderful memory. We look forward to returning next time we are in Kauai.

What a wonderful stay

I am pretty sure I have never had anything go smoother than this rental and stay in Kauai. From start to finish Dick was helpful and so full of information and anticipating what we needed before we even knew we needed it. The condo is all the pictures and descriptions advertise… it is an oasis of luxury. And I have decided I NEED that ice machine in my life. We went during rainy season so our time spent on the lanai was limited to some morning coffee and evening wine but that was nice… the view from the sofa and the master bed was amazing. Even washing up dishes in the kitchen sink was great due to the view. Everything is pretty much anticipated... you just have to think, where would X be kept and ta da... there is X. :-)

Location is great, you can pop into Hanalei or head down to Kapaa very easily. And our last night we had a very amazing dinner at the St. Regis which is just a short walk away. There is very nice snorkeling down on the beach below, but be warned it is a goat path (with some ropes to hold on to) at best to get down to it.

Our stay here was perfect from initial email to Dick to prompt security deposit return and every second of our stay at this lovely condo in between. I do highly recommend it.

We stayed at this unit in July 2013. Everything that is said and written about the unit and owner are absolutely true! The views are amazing, the amenities in the unit, everything is as advertised. An example of how above and beyond the owners will go is that they have a 3D television set and they have 4 headsets - in the same basket they had replacement batteries for the headsets!! Truly they have thought of everything in the unit to ensure comfort and convenience. The views are beyond amazing and the convenience to all on the north shore is great. Dick - we wanted to thank you again for being such a great host and allowing us to stay in your "little piece of paradise!" We looked at a few other units in the buildings of Pu u Poa and none compare to 412… We will be sure to return!!!
