A Wonderful Stay

This is a thoroughly lovely place, on a beautiful property and a stone's throw from downtown Amherst, where there are many fine restaurants and plenty of historical sightseeing available. The description on the B&B's website is very accurate, and though my schedule did not give the chance to explore the local nature trails this trip, I will in future. The interior of the home is lovely, very warm and welcoming, and the family even more so. Jeff and Carol go out of their way to make one comfortable, and their son Cameron, now four-years-old, is the "guest-master," and a delight. The room I stayed in, the Wildflower, was perfect, cozy, immaculate, with a bed more comfortable than any I'd slept in for a long time, and plenty of closet space. TV/VCR and free long distance calls from a phone in the room, too! Plenty of videos to entertain both children, teens and adults in the common room, and there to borrow. The bath is large, and was more than adequate, and also immaculate. It is hard to say enough about breakfast, which was varied every day and more than big enough for any appetite, with early coffee for early risers. I came here due to a two-year class meeting one weekend every-other-month. All my classmates were jealous when I told them of the breakfast, my hosts, the warm front room with fireplace, and more. Maybe the best way to say how much I liked this B&B is that I've booked most of my first year of class out in advance, and will be booking the rest of my projected weekends very soon. A fellow classmate is booking another room in the establishment for the same series of classes, and is also very happy here. There is a perfect balance between privacy and interaction, an openness I've not found in many places, and a warmth that is real. One night friends of Jeff's and Carol's, reknowned folk singers, were in for a visit, and I was invited to take part in a night of quiet, truly enjoyable cameraderie. It was a delight. Only "drawback," if you can call it that is the need for a car to get to town unless you take a cab, which is easy to do. Bottom line, I can't imagine anyone not being thoroughly happy with a visit to Birdsong B&B. I would highly recommend it.
