Great Deal on a Great Lake

We just returned from our second stay at the honeymoon cottage. I have been coming up to Lake George for over 35 years, and this is one of my favorite rentals (I have been to over 15 different places). The cottage itself has lots of charm, and the owners have done a great job renovating the cottage but keeping its original Adirondack character. It would be a great place for people of all ages. It is not too formal for kids, but it is not too rustic for those who enjoy their usual comforts of home. The covered porch is the perfect place any time of day, and it saved our vacation last year when the weather was not very cooperative. You can enjoy your morning coffee, a book or evening night cap rain or shine. The bay at Glen Burnie is perfect swimming for young kids, and those who prefer being able to still stand where they swim. Even if you are an avid swimmer like me, the bay is still a good place to swim you just have to walk out a little farther, but the advantage is that the bay protects you from the currents out on the open lake, and the speeding motor boats. An added bonus of the cottage is the availability of the canoe, and again the bay provides safety even for novice boaters. I highly recommend early morning canoe rides. Even though the cottage is not directly on the water, the brook that runs by the cottage provides the relaxing sounds of tumbling water even when the lake is still. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen a bath are nicely updated, and the adirondack chairs are very comfortable.
With so many places out of reach for average folk on Lake George these days (all you old time Lake George people know what I mean), it is wonderful to find a great little spot at reasonable rates.
Selfishly I would like to keep this little spot a secret (especially the first week of August-my favorite time to go), but I would highly recommend this cottage for families, retirees, and anyone in between!
