Truro Vacation Home - 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 8

Overlooking Truro dunes, sunlit, airy contemporary with panoramic views of Cape Cod Bay. Sheltered and kept private by giant white oaks. On the waterside, indigenous shad-bush & beach plum patch together a landscape of ever changing color against big skies and sea, Provincetown and the Pilgrim Monument. Well-equipped kitchen, dining and living areas with fireplace & deck (outdoor dining for ten) on upper level. Play the black-ebony piano at the center of this great room or pull something to read from one of the bookshelves—there's also an HDTV, iMac computer and Nespresso machine. Four bedrooms—two queen with water views, one king (or two twin) with deck access, one bunk room—& two baths are on main level as you enter from the wrap-around deck. Well-behaved children welcome. NO SMOKING. NO PETS. Pick wild blueberries for your breakfast. Stay in touch via high-speed wireless Internet. It's a short walk down our quiet road to private Tru-Haven beach.

Our Private Association Beach...: called Tru-Haven is a gentle walk to the end of the road and down a flight of beach stairs -- it's north of Great Hollow and south of Cold Storage Beach, if you're familiar with the area. Only residents and their guests use Tru-Haven Beach so it tends to be less crowded, even at peak times. The sand is clean with few rocks and at low tide, the sandbars seem infinite. Cape Cod Bay waters are calm and ideal for young children and serious swimmers, as well as kayakers. Corn Hill is a 25-30 minute walk along the beach south of the house. Truro Harbor, where people fish off the rocks, from their small boats, or simply wade in, is just south of Corn Hill.

All other public Ocean and Bay Beaches in Truro...: require a beach sticker between the hours of 9 am - 4 pm. You may park outside these hours without a sticker. You are entitled to purchase a weekly beach sticker when renting the house.

At the house and further afield...: wild blueberries are plentiful on the land around the house... enjoy. Beach plums come later in the season, towards the end of September, early October. The driveway has room for several cars and/or boats. There's room indoors to store your bikes. It's an easy cycle to the oceanside and Coast Guard Beach. To explore the area -- use the iMac computer, Google maps and the printer to produce local maps for your day trips. Great hiking and biking in the area.

DON'T OVERLOOK SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER... one of the best kept secrets on Cape Cod.

GOLFERS: 9-hole Highland Links Golf Course, first opened in 1892, is 1.7 miles from the house on the oceanside, and 9-hole Chequessett Country Club (Public) in the next town of Wellfleet is just under 7 miles.

Heavenly Vacation House for Family Reunion

This is the third year my family has come to this idyllic house. We're building memories and can't wait to return for another wonderful vacation next year.
Four generations of the family have come: my elderly mother, two grown children, daughter-in-law, and two young grandchildren. Each of us loved it. The adults appreciated the views, art, books, New Yorkers, cappuccino machine and general sense of being in a delightful ambience. The grandchildren enjoyed the children's books, water toys, and being able to walk to the beach. We celebrated Dilan's third birthday there this year and he said, "Thank you, Grandma. I really like Cape Cod."

The house is as lovely as the photos indicate, with spectacular water views.

We rented this house for a family reunion. The age range stretched from 17 to 81 - everyone loved the house. It is very thoughtfully furnished, well equipped with a great cook's kitchen and pleasing with books and artwork throughout the house. There is ample gathering space inside and outside as well as opportunities to find a solitary space in one of the four bedrooms, on the different deck levels or the sitting spaces in the garden. We enjoyed all the comfort and amenities that this home has to offer, the views, the peacefulness and the smell of the pines.

A dream of mine when I was younger was to play the piano in a beach house, while looking out at the ocean. That opportunity presented itself yesterday! The family went to play ball on the beach and I was left alone for two hours to play the piano uninterrupted!! The experience was fantastic! What was unexpected was that the piano was in great condition and was even tuned! It was a joy to play.

Now that I've returned to the real world I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for your hospitality.  Your house was absolutely perfect and we had a wonderful, fun, and productive visit.  I had warned you that 4 writers would have no trouble consuming your coffee and I think we drained every last drop.  Hope we weren't being greedy - it was such a perfect complement to the visit.  Merci, le cube.

We also appreciated your good taste, not just in quality furniture and
appliances, but your books and art reflected a sensibility that just richened the experience for all of us.

We're already talking about turning this into an annual event, and if the timing works out we all would love to make a return visit.
