CHARMING COTTAGE ON THE RIVER WITH BOAT DOCK IN LELAND

Four great girlfriends spent a week in this beautiful river setting. Everything is close enough that you can walk for provisions, dinner, shopping but yet the location is peaceful and quiet. Cherryll made everything easy and was a great hostess making us all feel right at home. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing time on the water look no further. This location is also great for getting to the beach, Sleeping Bear Dunes for some great hiking in the cedar pine forests or just sitting on your private dock enjoying the water, weather and friends.

The River Cottage is a heavenly vignette right out of a magazine or a movie set. Everything, from the spacious and beautifully landscaped grounds right on river, to the well-appointed comfortable three-bedroom cottage is picture-perfect. And, we have taken many photographs to remind us of this wonderful dream in Michigan’s Leelanau Peninsula.

The master suite is worthy of a five-star hotel rating. Guests, or family will not be disappointed or cramped in either of the two guest bedrooms. Baths and all appliances are up to date and ideally situated. The cheerful kitchen is fully functioning and well appointed. Outside, a new model barbeque grill takes care of cookouts, and entertaining on the deck, or under the pergola table and chairs right on the river.

The river cottage is within walking distance of Fishtown, all the Leland restaurants, and both lakefronts as well as being right on river. The location could not be better. The magic outdoors ranges from watching boats on the river, to all of the native wild things that call Leland “home”. Black and gray Squirrels, Chipmunks, Ducks, and all kinds of birds are right here. Bring your field glasses and your camera. It is a target rich environment for nature lovers. There is even a dock to tie up your small boat, canoe or Kayak, or, use the canoe that is furnished as part of the rental at the cottage.

This is my second time in Leland, and my husband’s first time. “We WILL be back”. We are fully enchanted with the warmth of the community, the cool weather (a welcome change from Texas summer heat), the incredible flora and fauna in the environment, and this spacious and very private river cottage. Did I mention all of the small township local markets? Check the listings – the fresh produce, local honey, lavender, beautiful flowers and plants, and wines and ciders – are all right here here. Leland and surrounds are reminiscent of Napa, the South of France, and Italy. It does not get any better than this.

It’s been a privilege to stay here. “Thank You!” Cherryll and Bud, for your Texas-style hospitality in your beautiful Michigan home. You answered all questions and gave great local travel and entertainment advice. The home is beautifully maintained, landscaped, clean and comfortable. The house is in walking distance to everything in Leland.
