Take a walk from your back door and explore on forest service roads and an ancient railroad bed to discover an old rock quarry and a pond that uses White Horse Ledge for a back drop. Extend your walk all the way to the Moat Mountain summit if you have a full day or bring a mountain bike and have a blast cruising on the service roads or challenge yourself on some single track. Walk or ride to Diana's Baths, White Horse or Cathedral Ledges and Echo Lake, or drive the few minutes to the public parking areas. Chill out in this private, peaceful location that is a 6 minute drive to all the action and wonderful restaurants in downtown North Conway.

North Conway is an outdoor lovers paradise whose rock climbing scene is featured in the July 2007 'Rock and Ice' Magazine. The area comprises most of the road cycling routes in '25 Best Rides in New Hampshire.' There are hundreds of miles of Hiking Trails maintained by the Appalachian Mountain Club including the famous Hut to Hut Hiking System in the White Mountains. The Saco river offers canoeing, tubing and swimming. North Conway is the base camp for the Mount Washington Valley family tourist attractions.

Skiing - Alpine and Nordic: There are numerous opportunities to enjoy winter in The Mount Washington Valley! There are some wonderful back-country trails as well as ski resorts with all the amenities. Cranmore 5 minutes, Attitash 10 minutes, Bretton Woods 30 minutes, Sunday River 55 minutes, Wildcat 30 minutes, Jackson Ski Touring 25 minutes. There is more, and my townhouse has books and maps to lead you to the best back-country skiing in the Northeast.

Hiking: There 48 Four-thousand foot peaks in New Hampshire. Most summits available to climb in one day. The Appalachian Mountain Club maintains hundreds of trails in the White Mountains and offers programming and guided hikes for the whole family. The Appalachian Trail goes through the heart of the Whites and includes the Presidential Range of summits to climb for those who are up to the challenge! Maps and books for you to use at the Townhouse.

Family Fun: Although North Conway can attract the hard-core mountain men and women, it is also family friendly. There are a lot of outdoor pursuits suitable for all types and ages including hiking, biking, canoeing, rock climbing, cycling, etc. Attractions like StoryLand, Clarks Trading Post, North Conway Scenic Railroad, Attitash Alpine Water Park, plus all the happenings ongoing in the Mt. Washington Valley make this a great family vacation destination. Restaurants for all palates and budgets exist with in 10 minutes of the Townhouse. There are several golf courses in the area and plenty of outlet shopping with no sales tax! Information about all this great stuff is available at the Townhouse.

The townhouse was immaculate and very spacious. Located off of busy Route 16 but within a short drive to all the popular destinations. Setting is secluded in a woody,quiet area. The unit had plenty of room for our family with 4 floors, 3 bathrooms with showers ( a plus ) and plenty of beds/futons. Ideal for larger groups. Our kids loved the finished lower level, especially the ping pong table. I would definately recommend this unit. The owner was courteous, friendly and easily accessible.
