Good Location, So So Property, Owner not fair or pleasant to deal with

True to what others say, this location is a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of Saugatuck, as well as easy escape to the freeway.
The quality of the property was marginal. The home itself is in need of repair (Paver walk ways, exterior windows, etc). Inside, it was fairly clean upon arrival. (Apart from the fridge, which needed some cleaning). The seating areas are comfortable and in good repair. The bathrooms were fairly nice. The furnishings are So-so overall.
The beds were another story altogether. They were extremely squeaky with very shabby sheets, pillows and blankets. As a result, you probably won't get the best night of sleep. Because of this, we actually left a day early.
We did not have a great experience with the owner either. Don't accidentally leave the lights on or use too many towels... you'll probably get some unpleasant remarks about it. We left some dishes in the sink and a few towels extra to wash, and he docked our the damage deposit for it. Never mind that he already charged us a hefty cleaning fee. His explanation was not reasonable and the tone was very rude. As a result, we won't be using this property again.

Owner's Response: I refused to pay extortion, so he gave us a bad review. First, of all we are a four minute walk to the main shopping district, not the 10-15 minute he claims. This is for the two couples and two children that used the house. In two and 3/4 days rental. Upon leaving they left a double basin sink and the counter top of the island full of dirty dishes and the counters full of grease and food residue. The stove is probably permanently damaged due to them NEVER wiping up after themselves. The food and grease were cooked onto the surface. Their idea of a few extra towels was 17 bath towels, 12 wash cloth and 3 bathmats. They departed about 9:00 PM the night before their scheduled morning check-out, because he was called into work for Sunday AM. Upon his departure he phoned me and said what a wonderful time they all had and would love to come back. This was true till they found out they would have to pay for the item the kids broke and the extra cleaning. He thought I should absorb the cost, because he had to go to work and did not stay the whole night. The next check-in was at 4:00 PM and they were delayed two hours getting the house, because of the condition and laundry left by the these renters.
