A contemporary, California-style main house with fabulous views of Rose Bay in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, built on levels conforming gracefully to a hillside, offers 5 bedrms (3 w/lofts), den, study, sunroom, 3 baths, sauna, pantry, laundry. Upstairs the kitchen is part of a bright, open space with living, dining and library areas, wood-burning stove, 2nd sunroom & small rooftop deck. The cottage is a very large, airy studio with bedrm, living and dining areas, separate bath & kitchen, and a large deck with view. A path meanders downhill to an open-space, wood-interior bungalow at bluff's edge--a great place to reIax. It has a spacious deck, view; no utilities. Sandy beaches, a park & coastal hiking are very close. Ovens Natural Park, walking distance, offers rock formations, sea caves, hiking, swimming, sea shore, a funky restaurant, live entertainment, boat tours. Lunenburg, a UNESCO world heritage site, 15 min. away, welcomes you with arts & crafts, restaurants & services.

The picturesque UNESCO world heritage site of Lunenburg, a 15 minute drive, has a golf course, tennis courts, deep sea fishing and whale watching excursions, a sea museum, distinctive restaurants, and art and craft shops. Four cities are within 1-2 hours: Yarmouth and Halifax, and Digby and Truro which are on the Bay of Fundy known for its huge tides.

Notes: There is a local property manager available. Noted as unsuitable for elderly or infirm because of stairs. Parking is available. Wifi internet access is available at a very pleasant coffee shop in Lunenburg. Lunenburg is a great place for dining: everyday and luxury cuisine. Driving around is a delight with so many beautiful sites and views - lots of water. Very friendly and welcoming environment. A wonderful bakery is located on the La Have River near a ferry crossing which is one of many fun destinations for a short day trip.

Beautiful House Great Location- Wonderful Vacation

A group of 10 great friends, from Canada, Scotland and the U.S., converged on this lovely home and cottage for a weeks stay during July 2008. We were lucky enough to find this wonderful home through a Google search and couldn’t have been happier when we arrived. The house is wonderful and so much more than we could have ever hoped for. The house far exceeded our expectations and the location was perfect. So comfortable, warm and welcoming- it almost felt like home. We enjoyed many meals cooked in the well equipped kitchen or on the outside gas grill- and there was plenty of room for all of us to eat at the table. Outside we saw deer grazing on the bush. The breathtaking views from the house and grounds left us with beautiful memories (and pictures) of watching the morning mist over the water and the evening sunsets. The location is perfect- for a quiet, relaxing vacation or venturing out for a short walk (or drive) to the Ovens for more breathtaking sights, an easy 15 minute drive to beautiful Lunenburg or a little longer drive to the equally stunning Mahone Bay or Peggy’s Cove- to name just a few of the places we enjoyed during our stay. I cannot say enough about this wonderful home and location…we had a great time! Thanks- Villa at Rose Bellows, for making this one of our most memorable vacations ever- we hope to visit with you again in the future!!
