Even better than I expected
I was planning a get away for Valentines weekend, and this looked perfect! It turned out to be all that and more. The location was perfect, far enough away from town to feel private, close enough to hop in the car and go for whatever we decided we needed. A few steps down the trail from the front porch to the water below for kayaking, or just put on your boots and muck about when the tide is out! We loved the beautiful warm and woody interior of the cabin so much we had a hard time deciding to leave and see the island... But when we did venture out we found wonders everywhere we went. From English camp, to British camp, vineyards, orchards, ancient lime kilns, camels, driftwood strewn beaches, a lighthouse poised like a yogi balanced and calm on craggy cliffs above the sound. We joined in with a local family as they ran their first pressing of apples for hard cider. Enjoyed their 10 year story of learning to distill the cider to gin and brandy. We even purchased a bottle or two, or more... Lavender gin, Madrona gin, strawberry gin, and of course a few hard ciders. Later we geocached and discovered a hidden pool, whose water was a warm green from the lime in the rocks. We took some great pictures, and decide it was time to return to the cabin. We new, as we sat near the fire, cozy inside and out, that we were in for a memorable time.
During this stay the property was under previous owner or management.
