Morristown, known as the “Gateway to the Thousand Islands,” is a picturesque historical village with seven buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Sites, a windmill and an original 1824 stone school. Visit our many local state parks!

Peace and Serenity in Nature: Our fully furnished log home is nestled on one-half-plus wooded acre on the shores of the majestic St. Lawrence river overlooking Chippewa Bay, the islands and Little Chippewa Point. The surrounding woodlands include mature oaks, pines and dogwoods. This location is ideal for families, fishermen, duck hunters, and writers or artists who need a quiet getaway. Our private access road has almost no car traffic. Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the peaceful, quiet location. You can park your boat, fish or just relax on our 8 x 36' dock and our 150' shoreline. You can enjoy boating, swimming, fishing, sailing, nature photography, biking, or just relaxing in the peace and quiet of our wooded peninsula. Tranquil Chippewa Bay is famous for its fishing, especially for walleye, northern pike, perch, largemouth and small mouth bass, muskie, crappie, bluegill, channel cats, bullhead, and carp.

This is a quiet, peaceful location. We cannot have large, loud parties at this location because of our neighborhood. The neighbors expect a quiet, tranquil environment on this peninsula.

Fantastic Vacation Retreat!!!

  • 5 of 5

Since the Thousand Islands is a halfway point between Toronto and Montreal, it was the ideal place to meet up with family for the weekend. Margaret and John were kind enough to allow 16 of us to stay at their beautiful log home. First of all, we were very impressed by how clean and fresh the house was! Secondly, there was ample room and everyone was very comfortable. The large, open kitchen was ideal for all of us cooks, and the kids loved running around the house - very fun and safe for the kids! We have no complaints at all!

Outside, we fished off the dock, had a BBQ and went on hikes. We really lucked out on the weather too!!!

Margaret was extremely kind and accommodating. We felt blessed to enjoy such a lovely home in such a lovely setting! We highly recommend it, and are already planning to go back!

Even more beautiful then the pictures show!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, baby and I just came from viewing this AMAZING property. The pictures posted truly do not show it's beauty, it is sooooo beautiful in person! The owner was very sweet and accomidating with showing us around and making us feel comfortable.

The house was as clean as my own house and had all of the amenities a large group could ever need. We are looking forward to future stays there!

I would reccomend this property to anyone who's looking for a little slice of heaven on thier vacation!!!

bad stay

  • 1 of 5

We drove all the way from Virginia last year to spend very valuable vaaction time at this place and ended up feeling cheated of our vacation. they were not ready for us-some students had trashed the place-we just wanted to move in and get settled the frist day but the owner stayed and stayed and kept asking to come for several days to "get it shaped up"-the septic system needed pumping and was unfit for guests, the smell of mildew in the cabin was high, the carpets filthy-I could go on and on-it was not acceptable but we were stuck-we left early and couldn't wait to get out. We called about numerous problems, and almost never had a response-there were mouse traces under the kicthen sinks. I tried last year to write a review but it had been removed from the site-also, the owners own web site had also been removed that we were referred to from this one. Now I see it back up and wish to warn others-

Great Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this spacious cabin for one week and had a fantastic experience. The cabin is huge and the view is spectacular. It was very clean and every necessity was taken care of. We rented our boat at Schermerhorn's Marina (another good experience) and tied it to the large dock. We've fished all over the Thousand Islands and this cove has alot of fish. We caught a 4 lb. smallmouth off the dock. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. We will be renting again.

A stay at Margaret's

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time on Chippewa bay. The description of the log home was accurate. Margaret will assist you in any way. Example: we were bringing boats to do some fishing and she helped us to locate the best place to launch and we were given a discount for staying at her place from blind bay marina. We celabrated our 30th wedding anniversary by renewing our wedding vows on the spacious deck. It is a beautiful isolated place but within twenty minutes of the many attractions in the thousand island region.
