Two Bedrooms with Queen sofabed will accommodate 4 to 6 guests. This unique location offers beautiful turquoise surf breaking views from every room of the house. The 'Old Hawaii' atmosphere of Koa wood and vaulted ceilings create an open and spacious feeling of aloha and royalty.
There is plenty of space and privacy for everyone. The 'Apple Oasis' just had a face-lift including the addition of a peaceful and serene private lawn and waterfall just feet away from the shoreline.
On the waters edge, you overlook some of the most pristine coral reefs and surf breaks in all the islands. If you're lucky, during their regular seasonal visits, you'll see Humpback Whales, pods of Dolphins and Green Sea Turtles at your Lanai steps.
The house location on the island is a perfect starting point for nearby activities and day trips. The house is located in an ideal spot just a block away from the best snorkeling beach on the island, Kahaluu Beach Park. There is a great view of the parks' popular surf break from the lanai where you can watch the local surfers all day long.
You will love lounging in the shady peacefulness of your private seaside palm grove looking out over the Kahaluu Bay surf break. The tranquil privacy and natural beauty is rhythmically enhanced by the constant sounds of the breaking waves on your very own private oceanfront shoreline.
Afternoons are a great time to stretch out and relax in the comfort of your soothing Kona hammocks. Sleep inside with a view of the waves from your bed or sleep outside under the stars while being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the sea and the moon setting over the Pacific.
Without leaving the property, you can enjoy snorkeling, swimming, diving, shore fishing, sunbathing, hammock laying, sunset watching, and kayaking. It will truly be your own private vacation home for romantic getaways, family vacations, reunions, retreats, and weddings. Wheelchairs can easily navigate this special property.
Within 1 mile of the property you'll find a supermarket, a drugstore, fantastic restaurants, luxury shopping, health/facial/nail spas, movie theaters, tennis courts, and hotels providing delicious Sunday morning buffets and live local entertainment most nights. Another mile away are world class golf courses, genuine Hawaiian luaus, a dive shop, snorkel and dive excursion boats, big game fishing boats, kayaks, canoes, and surfboard rentals.
Come see why Hawaiian royalty and their families lived along this magical shore front. Melt away your stress and pressures as you stay at home and listen to the waves break below your Lanai.

Great location with extensive ocean frontage...not overlooked, plenty of space and comfortable. Close to Kona restaurants and amenities yet you feel you are in your own world.
Very functional, well equipped. The outdoor shower (as mentioned in other reviews), is a big hit. There's plenty of space and we saw other rentals which were more expensive but nowhere near as nice.
Well, I was very comfortable in this house. We love to eat out, but we ate in every night because the dining room was so nice. The kitchen was good. Lots of pots and pans. All that you need, and we are cooking people.
The house has an alarm system, which is probably not needed as I felt very safe. But it definitely added a touch of comfort- especially since we have kids.
Richard warned us that we had to be careful with our kids as the patio gets slippery. Our two year old learned quickly and it wasn't a problem. Richard was super helpful and accommodating and a nice person to meet.
The bedrooms were comfortable and each had a ceiling fan that was nice, and the house has numerous box fans that work great and aren't the cheap kind.
My favorite part was the outdoor shower. Only my wife used the indoor shower, which was spacious. The rest of us loved going outdoor. My son has never showered so much in his life, nor have I :)
Other reviewers were right, you have to drag yourself elsewhere. There is a nice beach for snorkeling right down the street, within walking distance (.20 miles ish).
There was a nice stereo for music.
If we come back to Kona, we're staying here, but this time for longer. Thanks Richard.
My husband and I have stayed in various other homes on Kona but this is by far the best. The view from the lanai is absolutely spectacular. We were here for three weeks and at times had to drag ourselves away from the lanai. We saw tropical fish in the waves, a large turtle, and many humpback whales while having our morning coffee. The house is extremely well equipped, the beds are comfortable, and the owner is a very pleasant, helpful guy. Rent this house! You will not be disappointed.
beautiful property, close to a public beach. we saw turtles and dolphins from the patio. snorkeling and surfing readily available. the home is clean, well maintained, and problems fixed quickly. I have recommed this property to friends and coworkers.
This house was the perfect place for our family vacation to the Big Island. It delivered on every promise and more! The house was clean and lovely. The ocean views were breathtaking. If you stay there be certain to swim and snorkel in the "bowl" out to the right of the house in the back. We saw turtles almost every day. This place was worth every penny!
I would definitely recommend this beautiful vacation house to all travelers looking for a peaceful atomosphere, yet close to great restaurants, shopping and the best snorkeling on the island. Truly a great location.
