Bushmills is just one hour from Belfast International airport, yet it's another world. We're right at the heart of the stunning Causeway Coastal Route - the essential Irish journey. With nine breathtaking Glens of Antrim to cycle, walk or drive, Eagry Cottage is less than a handful of miles from the main attractions: it's just 2 miles to the Giant's Causeway (World Heritage Site), Portballintrae beach, Dunluce Castle, Royal Portrush Golf Course, great surfing, and we're right on the doorstep of the famous Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery - 'legally' making whiskey since 1608!
There are great restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and craft nooks just an easy, short stroll away as well as seaside towns, fishing villages, National Trust properties and tiny, peaceful harbors to visit.
Pony trekking, the Old Llammas Fair in Ballycastle (August), the North West 200 road race (motorbikes) and Bird Sanctuary on Rathlin Island are all within easy reach of the house.
Golf: Links golf is the game played on a course designed by mother nature with as many humps and bumps as you like with a view unequalled for it's beauty! At Eagry Cottage, we love to boast one of the word's top links courses almost on our doorstep. Royal Portrush - just 3 miles away and home to the 2012 Irish Open! ('Home' to Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell - GMac, Darren Clarke and Padraig Harrington - if you have to ask.... you're not a golfer!)
The Royal County Down Course is easily within driving distance too, though by the time you've tested your skills on the marvellous Portstewart and Castlerock courses as well, we think you'll have enough travellers tales to tell of the game at it's best, along one of the world's most spectacular coastlines.
