'Eagry Cottage' offers luxury self catering 5* accommodation just walking distance from the geological wonders of the Giant's Causeway. Located in Bushmills, the area offers excellent beaches, great fishing, pony trekking and a royal links golf course - all just a few minutes drive away, making the bustling little village the perfect base for a holiday in Northern Ireland. Situated a few minutes walk from the center of the Bushmills, the cottage is spacious, scrupulously clean and very comfortable. The lounge seats 7 people comfortably with the cosiness of an open fire on cooler evenings while a paved patio offers a peaceful suntrap on warmer days. The excellently equipped kitchen accommodates 6 diners and a separate utility room contains a washer/dryer, sink, microwave and dishwasher. A travel cot, high chair and stair gate are also available for our littlest guests. All year round, there's a warm Irish welcome with peace and quiet to relax in.

With nine breathtaking Glens of Antrim to cycle, walk or drive, Eagry Cottage is less than a handful of miles from the main attractions: it's just 2 miles to the Giant's Causeway (World Heritage Site), Portballintrae beach, Dunluce Castle, Royal Portrush Golf Course, great surfing, and we're right on the doorstep of the famous Old Bushmills Whiskey Distillery - 'legally' making whiskey since 1608! There are great restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and craft nooks just an easy, short stroll away as well as seaside towns, fishing villages, National Trust properties and tiny, peaceful harbors to visit. Pony trekking, the Old Llammas Fair in Ballycastle (August), the North West 200 road race (motorbikes) and Bird Sanctuary on Rathlin Island are all within easy reach of the house.

Golf: Links golf is the game played on a course designed by mother nature with as many humps and bumps as you like with a view unequalled for it's beauty! At Eagry Cottage, we love to boast one of the word's top links courses almost on our doorstep. Royal Portrush - just 3 miles away. The Royal County Down Course is easily within driving distance too, though by the time you've tested your skills on the marvellous Portstewart and Castlerock courses as well, we think you'll have enough travellers tales to tell. All courses have specific information on their respective websites - easy enough to find on the web!

Eagry Cottage was a perfect place to stay for our 5 night visit to the Causeway and surrounding countryside. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood and was clean, very well maintained and furnished very nicely. The bedrooms were nice sized and comfortable. Etta and Arleen were helpful in giving directions and recommendations prior to our stay. Everything we needed for our stay was available in the cottage. We especially liked having the hot pot to make a quick cup of tea and being able to relax in the comfortable living room. The welcome basket with local products was nice, especially the cheese...it was very good. There was WiFi available though we did not have a computer. It was also a nice touch to have the parking pass for the Causeway parking lot! We felt the cottage was a very good value for our money. We especially liked the short walk into Bushmills which we did almost every day. Bushmills is a very friendly and hospitable village. Everyone we encountered was pleasant, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting with the residents of the village. We visited Bushmills, the Giant's Causeway, Dunluce Castle, Portrush, Portstewart, Coleraine, and Londonderry. The Bushmills Inn had a wonderful dinner and Irish music on Saturday evening of our stay. The food was excellent and the music very fun. We also had great food at Morelli's in Portstewart. I would recommend a visit to this scenic and beautiful area and the stay at Eagry Cottage.

A great house for a wonderful golfing trip

We rented this house in August, 2008. Other than the rain, which no one can control, Northern Ireland is an excellent place for a guys golfing trip and Eagry Cottage is an excellent place to rest your weary bones. It has four separate beds, so no one doubles up. The amenities of the house were all that one could expect, and the drives to the local courses were all within 30 minutes (except to Ballyliffin in the Republic, which was 90 minutes away). Every description in any advertising that you see on Eagry Cottage is 100% accurate - no distortions or exaggerations. Close to the Bushmills Distillery (about a 5 iron). The owner also has another house within a 5 minute walk that will sleep another 4. Rent this house for a great experience!
