Helene Orsulak purchased this house in 2000
Though we were not in the market for property, the previous owner offered it for sale to his tenants of the previous year. We enjoyed our stay so much, we bought the place!
Sorry it's taken me a while to write to you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home in Hana. It was so comfortable and convenient and it was just a bit sad when the time to leave came upon us. And it was so nice too that the housekeeper called to check in on us. I hope she found the house in acceptable condition as I know that I'd very much like to be able to 'check in' to that piece of Heaven again!
Thank you again for a most memorable and restful (and very needed) vacations!!
The Hale Heavenly Hana was a wonderful place to spend the last three days of our vacation. We have stayed out in Hana before and always find it peaceful and staying out in a house with 8 acres to ourselves made it even more peaceful. Loved the kitchen with the great selection of spices. Everything was accessible and easy to use. Our favorite feature of the house would have to be the outdoor shower. We felt right at home and would recommend this property to anyone. We only cooked dinner once as there was a place across the street that sold wood fired clay oven pizza every Friday and Saturday night. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed for two nights as part of a week long trip to Maui. The pictures we viewed online looked great but given the price we were skeptical how nice the house could actually be (costs a fraction of one room Wailea resort). When we arrived at the house on the evening of Jan. 3rd we were completely blown away by the quality of the materials used in the house, everything was top notch. If the house itself wasn't enough we found a basket of fresh fruit from the property awaiting our arrival. As we explored the house we were happy to find that everything we could possibly need was already stocked in the house (i.e. laundry soap, dishwasher soap, trash bags, even a huge spice cabinet full or seasonings).
Needless to say, when we woke up the next day and walked around the property we were again surprised by how beautiful the grounds were. In addition to the countless bowling ball size avocados and other various fruits and veggies, there were a large variety of different plants and flowers. it was absolutely beautiful.
A few additional notes to end on... If you plan to stay at this house make sure to find Thai by Pranee (in Hana) and the clay oven pizza stand, both were very good. Other than that I would recommend stopping at Mana Foods in Paia before you drive out, there are very few grocery options when you arrive. Also, make sure that you visit the Seven Sacred Pools, it is the last stop on the road to Hana and is one of the most amazing things we've every seen.
Lastly, I do have one small word of caution... if you are bothered by spiders or small lizards be prepared. There were quite a few spiders around the property and the lanai as well as a very small gecko in the kitchen. This is the price you pay for having true peace and quite out in Hana but it is very much worth it.
Thank you to Helene for all your hospitality and providing such a great alternative to the over crowded beaches of Wailea.
My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting in October and staying for a few nights. We were so happy to have made the decision to stay here, because this place is amazing. The property, so close to everything yet with a feeling of complete seclusion is silent by night and blooming by day. The house had everything we needed. You can tell the owner - Helene, put a lot of thought into every detail and made sure to provide her guests with everything a typical household has.
The property looks exactly as pictured - inside and out (immaculate). Helene was very easy to deal with. There were really no questions to be asked once we booked the place. Helene gave us everything we need to know and access the place, provided insightful tips and even recommended local destinations. Location is amazing - close to all the popular destinations of Hana and lets you beat the morning crowds of tourists making it from the west side of the island. We were really happy to do our waterfall hike early in morning because we saw a ton of people coming up on our way down.
I highly recommend spending at least 3 nights in Hana, because coming here for a day trip is robbing yourself of relaxation in one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. There are several beaches to go to, I cannot recall their names but the handy welcome binder will tell you everything you need to know. The black sand beach is stunning to say the least, I was probably one of the few people who swam that day due to rough water but have to say that most people missed out.
Oh, I could go on and on about how awesome Hana and this house were and how I am looking forward to visiting again, but that wouldn't do justice to simply experiencing it for yourself. I would definitely recommend this house to friends and relatives who plan on visiting Maui.
We made many happy memories here,
Once you've reached the house, you won't leave it!
You sit on the terrace and can't stop wondering the silence only interrupted by the birds.
You will not find a house for vacancy, but a real home with everything you need for feeling at home. After activities during the day, you will be happy to be back in the green lounge, where you can enjoy the silence, the property with all the trees, fruits and flowers.
The house is designed very fine and is decorated with a lot of love.
We have made all the way from Germany to come here and we don't regret it - not at all. The Email contact before was real friendly and warm, so we weren't fear to come here. We have already recommend this property to our kids, who love cooking. The kitchen is wonderful.
Hope we will return one day.

We stayed 5 days and any shorter stay would have not been enough to enjoy the house, the environment and Hana. A paradise full of peace, privacy and details in the house that made our stay perfect. Seamless process with owners, easy, friendly. Thanks Helene for everything.

We found the hale to be perfect in every way. Beautiful and open floorplan, the house is situated to overlook the lovely property and ocean in the distance. Large sliding doors in every room and lots of light we felt we could really enjoy the outdoors while being in. Comfortable furnishings, beautifully yet simply decorated, well maintained, and very clean. I can't decide what was more heavenly the lani or the outdoor shower. A perfect base and retreat for all of our East Maui activities. The location, privacy, and quiet was just what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were only sorry we didn't plan a longer visit. We look forward to returning to Hale Heavenly Hana.
