Our log sided two level vacation home is located 5 miles from Colebrook, NH and 5 miles from the famous Balsams Grand Resort and Wilderness Ski Area. The cabin sits on over 6 acres of woods and open land, offering peace and quiet along with views of surrounding mountains. Access to snowmobile Corridor Trail 18 is a minute away, and it is a short drive to the ATV trail systems in N. Stratford and Pittsburg. The area abounds with lakes and streams for fishing, mountain trails for hiking, waterfalls for viewing, and many areas to view wildlife, particularly moose. There are 3 golf courses within 5 miles, including the Balsam's Panorama course, rated the number one course in NH open to the public. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, electric fry pan, crockpot, cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. From the deck you can enjoy sunrises over Keyser Mt. and sunsets over Vermont's Mt. Monadnock.

The cabin is located 5 miles east of Colebrook Village, on a paved town highway, halfway from the village to Dixville Notch and the Balsams. It is a short drive to the Diamond Ponds, Coleman State Park and Dixville Notch State Park. There is easy access to the snowmobile trail system connecting to Errol, Diamond Pond, and Pittsburg as well as Maine, Vermont, and Quebec. We are at an elevation of 1,500 feet, assuring dependable snow conditions. Summer activities include golf at the Colebrook Country Club or the 2 courses at The Balsams, The Blessing of the Bikes (the weekend after Laconia Bike Week), and the Colebrook-Pittsburg Moose Festival in August. Fall brings outstanding foliage viewing and winter follows with snowmobiling, downhill and cross country skiing, ice fishing, sledding, and snowshoeing.

Additional Information: We have Dish Network satellite TV with the local channels from Portland, ME. There are 3 TVs, a DVD player, and 2 VCRs. The TVs can each receive a different channel at the same time. There are a few movies on DVD and VHS tape at the cabin. Video rentals are available in town, or bring your own. There is no charge for local phone calls, but to make toll calls you will need a phone card. There are two 21-speed mountain bikes with helmets and water bottles available at no additional cost.

Unwind Acres certainly lived up to its name for three weary adults and two young grandchildren. This cabin is perfect for families since the children can be downstairs and the adults upstairs, especially at night. The lovely views from all the wide front windows made relaxing a dream, and the quiet nights made for blissful sleeping. The cabin is very private but there is a long road for wonderful walking with views of the notch on every hilltop. Our visit made us want to move to Colebrook!

Wonderful stay in Colebrook

We had a wonderful week of hunting and relaxing at Unwind Acres. The house was extremely well furnished, even had legos for the kids and condiments in the fridge. And tools to put together a skeet thrower! The cabin is comfortable, kitchen nice to cook in.
