Private studio in beautiful Chilmark with private beach on the Atlantic Ocean . Beach pass for Lucy Vincent or Squibnocket Beach also available. Private tennis courts, kayaks available for use at no additional charge. Pickled wood finish interior with skylights; bright and airy. Cable TV, telephone, computer with high speed internet service in studio. Kitchenette with full size refrigerator, oven with rotiserie and four burner cooktop, microwave oven. Smokeless broiler for inside and gas grille outside. New cedar lined outside shower with hot and cold water for refreshing morning shower or after beach. (Inside shower in bathroom). Walk to beach or explore pristine wooded acreage with hiking trails. Short drive to scenic Menemsha with picturesque fishing village and seafood restaurants. Best sunset on Martha's Vineyard. Five star dining at the Beach Plum Inn or casual dining at a selection of indoor and takeout in Menemsha Village. An absloute must is sunset dining at Menemsha Beach with takeout or a picnic basket. Blanket, a bottle of wine (not available in Menemsha so BYOB) and your dinner selection. Don't miss the Menemsha Blues store with its focus on casual wear and voted the best Island Logo on the Vineyard. Please, no smoking . $875 to $1400 per week.

Included with rental are two kayaks located on Chilmark pond (very large and scenic) within walking distance from studio.

Bring a bottle of wine, some cheese and crackers while enjoying the sun set over the Elizabeth Islands at Menemsha Beach. Studio accomodates two comfortably.

This private studio is above a detached garage separated from the main house by trees, gardens, and flowering bushes. The garage itself is used for storage only. The entry to the studio is on the side of the building as shown in the photos. Parking is adjacent to the studio on the opposite side of the driveway. Walk to private beach on the Atlantic ocean. Peaceful, restful spot with private beach

My husband and I shared a wonderful respite here on a sweet, breezy, quiet part of the Vineyard, in Chilmark. The quality of light and airiness in this cottage-ey studio aren’t visible in the photos. A perfect place for two. Access to a private gated beach was a hidden treasure -- the beach was expansive and exquisite- inhabited only by neighbors and families who have clearly treasured it for generations. A special treat. Bob, the owner, gave us access to two great kayaks and gliding along Chilmark pond at sunset was dreamy. Fun flea markets and craft fairs close-by and Menemsha sunsets were beautiful while sharing some fresh Katama oysters on the docks. We loved the open air outdoor shower (never once showered indoors!). The full-size fridge and a new gas grill with burner mitigated any issue with minimal kitchen facility. With organic farms, farm markets and fresh fish markets in abundance and nearby, we didn't need much more! The owner was extremely kind and accommodating and respectful of our privacy as he lives in a separate house across the property.

Great location and rental

My wife and I loved Bob's rental. We had rented near Vineyard Haven last year and this Chilmark rental was much more relaxing. It's secluded, quiet, and a 8 minute walk to the beach or a short car ride to a private beach. The beach was wide, and lots of room to set up-not many folks there.

Bob provided two kayaks and there was more places to kayak than we wanted to explore just adjacent to the beach on a calm pond about 2 miles or more long.

The studio was clean, well-maintained and for a small issue Bob was prompt in responding. We used the brand new BBQ and the outdoor shower often.

There are at least 5 farmers markets near by. We went to two local restaurants and were delighted with the food, and also drove to Vineyard Haven, 20 minute ride, where there is many more.

We would recommend the studio to any couple wanting to have a relaxing vacation away from crowds.

Simple beach retreat. Accommodating owner.

Charming little guest cottage perfect for single occupancy. Friendly and helpful owner. Great beach access for Lucy Vincent or Squibnocket. Close to State Road restaurant - a great experience to dine on locally grown & produced foods. Perfect location for getting to the Chilmark General Store and Chilmark Tavern.
I would absolutely recommend this to others for a nice easy rental experience.
Owner's Response: Guest comments are from a one person guest. Studio cottage accomodates a couple very nicely with the king bed as shown in the pictures.

Quiet, comfortable, ideally situated studio apartment within walking distance of one of the finest, and least crowded, ocean beaches on the Vineyard. Convenient to the Vineyard's best farmers' market, in West Tisbury. Not far from the twice weekly, out of doors, Chilmark Flea Market. Between the Chilmark Store, home of the best pizza found up-island, and Alley's General Store, a Vineyard legend.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Cozy and private space for beach and relaxation

A perfect casual getaway...The living space, beach, and amenities (e.g., kayaks, grill, outdoor seating) were perfect for two. Note that the pictures do not do the studio's size or feel justice; there's plenty of room for two, and the wood, windows, and skylights are simply lovely. It was clean and private, and the owner and his family were remarkably warm, accessible, and helpful. A car is a plus (maybe a necessity?) given that the beach is across the road and Chilmark is a bit remote.
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
