RUSTIC JEWEL ON THE LAKE - HOT TUB, FIREPLACE - PERFECT HIDEAWAY!

Keeseville Cabin Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom, 1 Full Bath, Sleeps Six

Nestled in a private community, hidden in the forest with views of

the Mountains and the Lake, Pocomoonshine, once discovered

becomes a cherished sanctuary, many times for many generations.

Hark back to a former time, a simpler time, far away yet close to everything.

Our year round camp entices everyone with it’s rustic charm, multilingual library, large country kitchen, screened porch and garden with Adirondack chairs. Carefully restored and refurbished, keeping the antiquarian charm yet

offering modern comforts. There is a wood stove to take the chill out of the cool nights and a Hot Tub to warm up your spirit. Plentiful windows frame a landscape wherein you feel in concert with and cradled by Mother Nature.

Our camp is located about 80' from the shore, accessible by foot path. Enjoy your morning coffee, fish or watch the sunset from our private dock.

You never want to leave and always await your return.

Great Room - Library: The Queen Size Futon is located in the Living Room / Library. Here one (or two or three) sleep in this great, open room with high ceilings, twin paddle fans overhead, wood stove with a blazing fire, and a dream catcher to protect your sleep. The atmosphere is of so many adventures in hundreds of books waiting on the shelves, antique lamps providing the light, animal masks adorning the wall. Share scary stories or listen to gentle lullabies of Chopin played on the LP record player. Where will you choose to go in your dreams tonight?

Kitchen: The heart of the house is the good ole’ country kitchen. It is warm and inviting for gathering together or sitting in solitude on the window seat and taking in the beauty of nature while indulging in the aroma of the herb garden just beyond.

The butcher block with pots hanging above calls to the chef to create that memorable meal. He(She) will find no tools lacking for that task. The antique cherry dinner table is a perfect place for the romantic dinner for two or for a whole family to have an evening of talks and games.

Porch: Fresh breezes blow in from the adjacent enclosed, screened porch - A perfect place to greet the morning, or soak in the rays of the setting sun. The colorful radiance of the room hugs you with joy and happiness. The Mexican tile table, wrought iron cushioned couch and chairs, and swinging chair create the atmosphere to inspire the artist within you.

Songs about children have been written on this porch.

Pocomoonshine was inviting from the moment we entered...clean, charming and organized. Friendly little touches were everywhere and made us feel both at home and also far, far away. We'll be back! Kathy

The perfect getaway!

This home was exactly what my boyfriend and I were looking for to celebrate our anniversary! This very clean, cozy and romantic home gave us the perfect getaway.

Situated right on Augur Lake, the kitchen and living room provides beautiful views of the water and mountains. There are a few other homes in the area but you definitely still have the feeling of being fairly isolated.

It was a bit of a cold April, so we wished we were able to take advantage of the multitude of amenities including a hot tub, BBQ and canoe. We DID manage to go skiing, and the short 30 minute drive to Whiteface Mountain was fantastic!

Renata was also the perfect host, as she accommodated our every need and remained very accessible for communication.

I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a great time in the outdoors, disconnecting, and finally winding down with a romantic home-cooked dinner!
Owner's Response: Thank you Tiffany!

We are so happy that we could be a part of your Anniversary Celebration ;-)

Looking forward to hosting you again!

Best,
Renata

Pocomoonshine Camp

This home was wonderful for us. We didn't stay for long, but it was enjoyable. Renata was great. If there were any problems, she would try to get the problem fixed as quickly as possible. There are many activities around and a very nice little town. When we arrived, everything was left neatly for us to utilize. The only problem with our stay was the hot tub, which we were looking forward to using when arriving. It took a while to reach the temperature it was supposed to be set at. Then again, it was freezing outside. Although this was so, they came the next morning and helped us fix it and it was ready by nighttime! Overall, it was nice and relaxing.
Owner's Response: Thank you so much Angelica for taking your time to share your experience, we really appreciate it!

I'm so sorry that you couldn't use the hot tub on the day of your arrival. After talking with maintenance people I was informed that the water needed to be changed and that was why it wasn't hot enough for you to use it right away. You are right, freezing temperatures don't help in bringing it up to a 100 degrees!

I'm really happy that you were able to enjoy the extended check out time, and too bad you couldn't take us on the offer of another night for gratis.

All the best!
Renata

This vacation rental provides you with all of the amenities that come with the ideal getaway, and none of the hassle . It is both cozy and rustic, while still providing the ultimate comfort and atmosphere for any lucky vacationers. From soaking in the hot tub to enjoying dinner by he wood stove, Pocomoonshine Camp was EXACTLY what we were looking for and more.

We loved this place so much we even extended our stay by a day - we couldn't bear to leave after only two days! The owners were amazingly gracious and accommodating to us with our last minute request!

If you are looking for a clean, quaint, cozy, comfy and pet-friendly getaway in a place where you can be as active as you'd like or relax at your leisure - Pocomoonshine Camp has it all :)
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking your time to share your experience with us Meredith!
It means a whole lot to us and there is nothing that would make us more happy, than guests that enjoy themselves and take good memories back home.
All the best!

Awesome Memorial day Wknd!

My boyfriend & I were looking for a relaxing, homey, dog friendly place away from the stress of the city, that is exactly what we found when we arrived at the cottage for Memorial wknd.
The living room was so inviting and cozy, every night we would light the fireplace and make s’mores for a perfect movie night.
The lake was perfect for fishing and going out on the boat.
We loved Ausible Chasm (recommended by Renata) the waterfalls, the trails…just amazing!
And after a day of sightseeing, hiking, fishing or just walking the dogs the hot tub was a great place to sit back and relax.
Everything we wanted we had and so much more, the washer and dryer were a plus, the fully equipped kitchen and the enclosed porch were divine.
The dogs got to relax and also have so much fun outdoors.
Thanx again Renata for making everything so simple, providing us with great info on activities, places to eat and things to do, we loved it!

Car: necessary

Augur Lake is sequestered betwixt two miracles of nature,

Poke-O-Moonshine Mountain, with 1100 Million year-old walls, resembling a Gothic Cathedral and Ausable Chasm, with its intense energy from the whitewater coursing rapidly through the deep gorge.

We are in the heart of the Bread Basket of the Adirondacks, where valley farms offer organic eggs, dairy and produce biodynamically grown. There are apple orchards too!

High Peaks form the backdrop for these vistas, inviting hikes and explorations of Swimming Holes, Many Falls, High Falls Gorge, Natural Springs, Caves, Lakes and Rivers.

On Lake Champlain, only a few miles away, there is a private beach and boat launch for our community, as well as a ferry to Burlington, Vermont.

Thirty minutes to Whiteface Mountain.

Forty minutes to the Olympic Village of Lake Placid.

Ninety Minutes to Montreal, the second largest French City (after Paris) in the World-with all its sophistication, arts and culinary delights.
