7 Melody Lane is a cozy weekly rental cottage, suitable for two, and has access to Plum Island Basin, the Merrimac River and to the ocean, with easy access by boat. Your boat can be beached within steps of the cottage. Plum Island Beach is a short five-minute walk along the Basin. Close to the Parker River Wildlife Refuge and charming Newburyport. Requests for any changes to your rental & cancellations MUST BE MADE IN WRITING . If you cancel more than 45 days prior to your arrival date, 80% of your total rent will be refunded to you, and 20% of your total rent will be retained by us as 'full liquidated damages.' If you cancel within 45 days of your arrival date, ALL of your total rent will be retained by us as 'full liquidated damages.' However, if we're able to rebook your canceled dates to another guest, then 80% of your rental monies will be returned to you (promptly, just after the rental occurs) for the nights rebooked, and 20% will be retained by us as 'full liquidated dama..

Plum Island is located at the mouth of the Merrimac River. The area is separated from the mainland by a causeway that crosses The Great Salt Marsh, scenic and rich with wildlife, especially birds. Fishing and boating are two of the many activities available, with whale watching and party boat fishing available all summer from Plum Island Point. Newburyport is an historic Federalist city within 4 miles and offers a multitude of dining and shopping alternatives. The city has outdoor concerts and street fairs most summer weekends. Boston, Protsmouth, and Portland are also within easy day-trip range. Did we forget Rockport, Glocester, Salem, Essex, and Ipswich?

jim and i stayed there and had a wonderful time. the house is perfect!! it is so cute and cozy...we loved it. felt very comfortable there and rocky and erich are wonderful. we cannot wait till next year to c the house and them again....

This cozy cottage was super clean, well equipped, and in a great location. The owners obviously take great care to make your stay comfortable and pleasant. Plum Island/Newburyport itself is an active area - lots of good restaurants, shopping, beautiful beaches and birdwatching...My husband and I definitely recommend this!

My daughter and I spent the week in Plum Island. The cottage was absolutely beautiful. We went on a week that rained more than it was sunny. Because of that we spent more time at the cottage than normal, but that was ok, we really had a nice time. It was so cute, clean and just enough space for two people.

Rocky, Erich and Cleo are very nice people (and dog), kept to themselves but nice to know they were there if needed.

We highly recommend it and hope to stay next year if we go up.

Plum Island Cottage

This is a very charming and tastefully decorated little cottage. Everything is new and clean. It is locatedd in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks off the main drag. The owners are lovely; they live next door, are friendly and accomodating, but in no way meddlesome. The beach is a few minute's walk or bicycle ride from the cottage.

I stayed here with my cat after the big ice storm and resulting power outage in New Hampshire. Very cozy with lots of extras - movies, books, grill, etc. Clean and convenient - linens are provided. Great location. Plum Island is beautiful and has miles of wildlife refuge. Newburyport is so quaint and has great shopping and restaurants. Owners Rocky and Erich are very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend to a friend!
