best setting ever!

Leery as first-time renters....How can we know what we'd end up with? Would it be clean, maintained, in a good location? YES! YES! YES!
Three very comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms with all linens. Large, very well-stocked kitchen with full appliances Attractive and comfortable office, living room, sun room and dining room.
Light colours (carpeting, upholstery, cabinets and paint) and LARGE windows and patio doors everywhere gave it an airy, spacious feeling.
Even the side and back windows gave views of the surrounding woods...serenity! But the front windows and patio doors gave one of the best views we've ever seen. Framed by tall trees: the lake, the sunsets! It is an amazing setting. Cool breezes blowing through the house at the top of the bluff, but hot and sunny for our teens down at the beach. We loved, loved, loved the four levels of decks going down along the bluff from the house to the beach.
We'd looked for a place that would allow us to bring our labrador, Duke. Our daughter laughed that he must have thought he was in "Dukeland!" He was one happy, happy puppy! After a seven-hour drive in the van, he was thrilled to be released into the surrounding woods. He bounced around, investigating his new space. Then, when we brought him down to the beach! He'd never seen waves before and it was funny watching him. He was afraid at first, running away from the waves, but he quickly got over that and REALLY enjoyed jumping into waves! For the rest of the week, he was in his glory. My husband took him for long runs along the beach every day. Often we threw balls or sticks into the water. He'd swim out to retrieve them. He met lots of doggie friends along the beach.
The property was so gorgeous, we would not have cared if we'd gotten rained in for part of our stay (We only got rain for one morning.) The house has cable TV, which we never used, DVD players (we watched one movie the first night when we were too exhausted from the drive) and the internet. My husband appreciated the internet, as he had a deal settling while we were gone and had to check his email. We spent the evenings teaching our youngest how to play cards or playing board games. Days were spent taking long walks, playing with the dog, swimming, reading, or making day trips to Traverse City and the Sand Dunes (both worthwhile).
We're hoping it's still available to rent next year and we've told our friends and relatives about it too!
