'Casa Alta' is our private family retreat in the town of Idyllwild, just two hours drive from San Diego or Los Angeles. It is equipped with comfort and relaxation in mind. The home will be prepared for your arrival and contains everything you need for a great getaway. The house sleeps six comfortably and we have a gourmet kitchen with every conceivable utensil. We have three plasma TV/DVD combos. Direct TV, Broadband Internet all on three secluded wooded Acres with the most spectacular views of the San Jacinto Mountains. Both the sunset, with the 'alpenglow,' and the morning sunrises are spectacular. All Rooms have panoramic mountain views and there are two decks for lounging or dining. The town of Idyllwild is a place where you can spend hours visiting art galleries, antique shops or lunch and dine in one of the many great restaurants. There is always live music somewhere, and Idyllwild is the home of a renowned jazz festival. The hiking is also unsurpassed. Enjoy your visit!

Idyllwild, is as the name denotes, an Idyll in the southern California San Jacinto Mountains. It was recently voted on of the best 100 art towns in the USA and it is an incomparable jewel of a village. In addition to the Art there is some of the best hiking in southern California, with both day and overnight trails. The weather is nearly always brilliant, with warm dry days in the summer and lots of snow in the winter. There is also fishing and boat rental available on nearby lake Hemet. But we think you will just enjoy the peaceful, relaxing, friendly atmosphere you will encounter here. People live in Idyllwild because they want to, not because they have to. A large number of San Diegans and Angelenos have, like us, decided to have a place where we are closer to nature and can recharge our engines. We hope you can share this with us, and feel some of the stress dissipate just planning your getaway.

  • Bathroom one is part of the Master suite. The water from the tap is some of the purest in the state, and the large tiled shower has wonderful water pressure which almost gives you a massage. Individual sinks and makeup mirror. Bathroom two is next to B1 on the lower floor and adjoins the third bedroom. It has a tub/shower with two sinks. Both B1 and B2 have toilets. On the top (entry) floor there is a half bath with a toilet and sink.

  • The Master bedroom is on the lower floor. It is bright and colorful with a private deck and en-suite bath. There is a comfortable king size bed with a down comforter, Plasma TV and DVD. Bedroom #2 is also on the lower floor and is likewise bright with a beautiful view of Lily Rock, two twin beds with down comforters and great art. Bedroom three is on the top floor and has a queen bed, TV, and DVD. All bedrooms have Blackout shades.
