This beautiful stone house called the Gold Mine Lodge is appropriately named as it has an old gold mine on the property. You will be pleasantly surprised with the decorative touch that is evident in every room and the use of timeless stone work inside and out. This house is no ordinary cabin in the woods. Sitting out on the deck with a cup of coffee in the morning or in the evening after a day of site seeing is one of our guests favorite things to do as you can see the beauty of nature all around you. This 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house provides plenty of room for family or a lovely place for a romantic get-away for 2. It is 4 and a half miles from Hill City and just minutes away from most of the attractions of the Black Hills area like Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer State Park and more. With all the things to do and see you won't soon forget your stay in this lovely cabin and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Hill City made its beginning in 1876 when gold deposits were found in the streams in the area. Modern day Hill City survives mainly on the logging of timber, ranching and being a tourist destination. This mountain town is in the middle of the Black Hills region. The Black Hills area offers an array of tourist sites and activities for everyone. Of course, some of the biggest sites are Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Monument, and several state parks with plenty of wildlife to see. There are activities like scenic drives, hiking, swimming, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and rock climbing to mention a few. There are museums, art galleries, gift and antique shops, restaurants and plenty of unique vacation homes, bed & breakfasts and motels.

As Bob Hope always said, "Thanks for the Memories". Our family reunion here was full of lots of laughter, love and good memories that will last a long time. From Mt. Rushmore to Crazy Horse, the Badlands to Custer State Park, Wall Drug and here at the lodge we've enjoyed every minute. Well equipped house

Thank you for the comfortable vacation house. We have traveled as an extended family for the past 20 years and this is the first house that was fully equipped. The extra toilet paper, towels, chairs, blankets, etc. made it a very easy week. It was always great to come home after exploring what the hills had to offer.

This house was everything you assured me it would be and more. The house set up was wonderful. The atmosphere of the house made all of us feel at home. This home was wonderful. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you for the use of such a warm and beautifully decorated home which made our 40th anniversary with our kids and grandchildren memorable. The 12 of us came from Ohio and enjoyed everything this area had to offer.
