Wonderful Vacation Cottage!

This vacation home is much more than a cottage. It has a generous kitchen area for cooking with all modern appliances, including a dishwasher. The owners provided everything needed - from small appliances, to oil & vinegar, salt & pepper, dish towels, liquid & dishwasher detergent - just bring your food!
This cottage has a spacious & comfortable bathroom with a modern & roomy shower, a large bedroom, a good-sized living room area with TV & WiFi, & plenty of parking. It really is a "home away from home."
My daughter & grandchildren rented the front cottage & my sister and I stayed in this back cottage. This cottage has a good-sized front terrace with a six-chair outdoor table with umbrella and a large grill. We ate dinner there every night. What a gorgeous view of the lake from the terrace. The cottage is much closer to the water than photos indicate.
The cottage was so clean and modern, that it was as dry & comfortable when it rained out, as when the sun was shining.
Doreen and Barbara were very accommodating, answered all our questions, and made sure we had everything we needed. We rented two peddle boats which were great for the children. The boats were big enough to hold adults, but the water is shallow for quite a distance, so we were very comfortable letting the children use them by themselves. My brother was able to bring and tie his boat at the dock, so everyday we swam, went out on the boats, played bocce on the lawn, and made smores at night around an outdoor grill/pit. Great memories! There are some little rocks in the water at the beginning of thbeach area, but we went to a nearby Walmart & bought the kids some water shoes, so the rocks didn't bother them at all. It was really nice to have a shallow beach area, as most cottages on the lake don't have a beach at all.
My grandson took one of the peddle boat to a nearby cove to fish & did get some bites, but John at the "Top of the Hill" restaurant told us about a great fishing spot under the bridge next to the marina. We parked at the front of the marina & followed a path down under the bridge. My grandson caught a dozen fish in just an hour, including two large bass. He was thrilled. Also, the food was so good at the "Top of the Hill restaurant, we didn't eat anywhere else. Anything on the menu is just $10.99 between 4-6 p.m., including scallops & prime rib!
What a wonderful week we had. Thanks Doreen and Barbara. We will definitely rent again next year.
