'By far, the most wonderfully decorated and comfortable rental we have ever stayed in.'

Located behind Kiawah's second gate, within exclusive Vanderhorst plantation, this contemporary luxury home makes you feel at ease the minute you walk in the door.

Designer decorated, the 2500 square foot house features a beautiful open floor plan with comfortable seating and beautiful antique pieces. The single floor layout is simple and serene and the high ceilings and wall of sliding glass doors fill the house with light...along with views of beautiful palm trees. From the large screened porch with its comfortable Lloyd Flanders sofa and chairs, you'll enjoy great views of the lagoon as well as the 7th fairway of Osprey Point.

The well appointed living and dining rooms have vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and a dual fireplace. The large farmhouse table is ideal for family dinners or entertaining and there's a wonderful selection of books and games for those evenings when you just want to hang out and enjoy the serenity of Kiawah.

Each of the 3 bedrooms have comfortable beds and bedding (1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Twin) and include private baths and walk-in closets. The master bathroom features a Jacuzzi tub, shower and double vanity. TV's are in each bedroom along with DVD players. Other highlights include a well-equipped gourmet kitchen; a separate laundry room with washer and dryer; and ceiling fans in every room. There is a stereo system in the living room, ipod docking stations, and wireless high speed internet access.

11 miles of white sandy beach are only a short ride away -- by car or bike. The bike ride is an easy 10 minutes and takes you down the lovely and historic shaded path known as the 'Allee of Oaks.'

Arrangements for beach chairs and umbrellas can be made when you book your reservation.

I've always loved the beauty and serenity of Kiawah, and when I first set entered my house as a prospective buyer I felt an immediate connection. With soaring vaulted ceilings and glass doors that run the width of the house, it truly feels as if the outdoors has been brought inside. I hope you'll feel as I do that you don't want to leave.

Our family has vacationed on Kiawah for 17 years, almost always renting private homes for our stays. This house is the nicest one we've ever been privileged to call home on the island. It's even prettier than the photographs: the single-floor layout is simple and serene, the high ceilings fill the house with light, and the furnishings are beautiful. We were very impressed with the owner's hospitality: the house features thoroughly comfortable beds and bedding, plenty of storage space, shelves of good books and games, and a truly gourmet kitchen with every type of equipment imaginable to whip up memorable meals made from local produce and fish. This house is a short, beautiful bike ride to the beach, and only steps to the island's main bike path.
