Family Vacation Getaway

We throughly enjoyed our family vacation getaway. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very helpful!! The description is accurate regarding the location, layout and amenities, although there are only showers, no bathtubs in the bathrooms. The house is a "rustic cabin in the mountains", adjacent to Wilson's creek, accessed by a long gravel road that runs along the creek. The property was clean, well-maintained and well furnished with kitchen appliances. We loved the deck, the waterfall and the swimming spot. My husband and 7-year old son even went for a short swim. My son was a bit disappointed that the water-wheel was not working, but it was completely forgotten when he realized that he could play darts and horse-shoes. There is even a tree-swing that my husband and brother-in-law both thought was great. There is plenty of room to run around, and although the steps down from the deck to the water are steep, there is a much gentler slope if you go around the house. We enjoyed hiking the trail behind the house that goes to a small waterfall and to a lookout for Grandfather Mountain. (If you are desperate for cell phone service, my husband was able to access it on the trail up near the lookout spot!) We also hiked to Betsy's Country store. The gentleman there gave us other great places nearby where we could go hiking. It was a very relaxing vacation. Thanks, Mr. Jeff!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking time to review our property! We just upgraded the down stairs TV to 32" with built in dvd and added a new DTV receiver to try to eliminate some remotes and added a new washer. Earlier this spring we updated the tile and fixures in the downstairs bathroom and replaced the front door with a prettier door. Basically we're constantly trying to find ways to make our home more inviting, fun and family friendly. We just added 25'X175' pond that the frogs have taken to and I put some creek minnows in there but we've got a kingfisher that's been hanging out so I believe they are gone already. I may put a few trout in there to see if they can make it. The water wheel is still on my to do list. Thanks again.
