I returned to Kiawah for the first time since 2002 and was amazed by how much the island has changed in that time! This condo is situated perfectly to take advantage of all the new amenities and is just a stone's throw from the beach. We rented bicycles and enjoyed making the ride over to Freshfield's Village to check out the restaurants and shops as well as taking our bikes frequently to the Night Heron pool. You also get access to the nearby fitness center (a quick walk or bike ride) which was clean and never crowded. Of course - the primary attraction for us was the beach (we aren't golfers but I'm sure those who are interested would find this to be a perfect condo for their golf vacation) and being right on West Beach was awesome. Morning walks and sunset bike rides were wonderful. And coming from Maine, the warmer water temperatures were certainly a treat!
The villa itself is perfect. A well appointed kitchen/living room area is equipped with everything we needed and we found the decor to be pleasant and (unlike many places we've vacationed) not outdated. You can tell the owners care about providing a pleasant atmosphere for their guests. We loved eating meals out on the screened in porch, which is very private and is a pleasant place to relax. The bedroom is also nicely furnished and has a large walk in closet. The bathroom is clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries, which makes packing easier. A storage closet downstairs is full of beach chairs. We had trouble getting one of the TVs to work (we're not very tech savvy) but we called the resort and they sent someone over right away to show us which remote we needed to use. Everyone there is so friendly!
I would definitely recommend this villa for a couple or small family (there is a pull out couch). You really can't beat the location and you'll feel right at home! Additionally, it's great being so close to Charleston. It's an easy drive into the city, where you can indulge in the fabulous restaurants and visit the historic many sites. For this reason I definitely recommend renting a car if you are flying in. We can't wait to go back!
